Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry in Capcom’s popular action game series, and while it does feature some new mechanics like Wirebug and Palamutes, many other elements have remained intact. Each level of Monster Hunter Rise has a main camp where you will start. However, since the levels are quite high, it can be useful to have a small handful of places to go quickly when stalking your prey, and this is where the subfields are.
Unlike the main camps, you cannot deliver or eat supplies to a subcamp, but you can use them as fast travel points to get from one location to another quickly.
This is especially useful if you don’t want to use your Palamute for rolling or if you want to get close to a place where you know your prey is generally hiding.
Unlock subfields in Monster Hunter Rise
First of all, you have to find the subfield itself. They are usually hidden in high places or in small nooks and crannies of the level. You’ll know you’ve found one when you see a small tent or campfire, and a search message will appear.
You will then need to return to Kamura Village to discuss with the merchant about setting up a camp there, and you will receive a request to secure this area. This can be done by simply killing small monsters near the subfield location.
Once you’ve done that, report back to Kamura Village and this location will be unlocked for you. The next time you return to this level, you will be able to travel quickly between camps, which should make things much more convenient for you.
