Learn how to easily turn off the keyboard sound on your Android and iOS devices for a peaceful typing experience. Follow the simple steps in this article to enjoy a quiet environment while typing.
By default, typing on smartphones is accompanied by sound and vibration. Those who find this annoying can disable both functions on Android and iOS. You can find out how to do this from our guide.
Disabling Keyboard Sound on Android
On modern smartphones, you can use both the built-in Gboard keyboard and third-party options. But the sound is turned off everywhere in the same way and everything is done as follows:
- Launch any messenger or browser and open the keyboard block;
- Click on the gear icon and open “Settings”;
- In the Sound and Vibration tab, switch the switches to the off position.
When dialing a number in “Calls”, sounds may also be heard. They are disabled separately:
- On your smartphone, first open “Settings” and then “Sound and vibration”;
- Go to the “Advanced settings” tab and disable the “Dialing sound” item;
- You can also turn off “Touch Sounds” so that you don’t hear an annoying beep when you touch the screen.
After this, when dialing messages and numbers, no knocks or vibrations will bother you anymore.
Disabling Keyboard Sound on iOS
On iPhone, this procedure can be done in a couple of taps. The algorithm of actions looks like this:
- In the device’s “Settings”, tap on the “Sounds, haptics” section;
- Then in the “Keyboard Response” window, turn off “Sound”;
- If necessary, turn off the vibration that sounds when performing various actions by switching the toggle switch opposite “Tactile signs”.
If you still experience vibration while typing, go to Settings > Accessibility and in the Touch window, select the options you want.
