How to tame animals in LEGO Fortnite: step by step
Following the LEGO Fortnite 29.30 content update on April 23, 2024, it is now possible to tame animals . Having tamed animals allows us to get resources in exchange for caring for them and giving them shelter, food, and attention . The first step of all is to build an Animal Hut . It appears in the Workbenches section of the build menu, and we need 10 Planks to create it.
Crafting an Animal Hut unlocks the recipe for an Animal Treat . These are created at Grills (a Grill is built with 30 Granite). Each Animal Treat requires 5 Fiber (obtained by destroying bushes and plants) and 3 Corn .
With an Animal Treat in our possession, we explore until we see one of the following animals:
- Pig
- Sheep
- Chicken
- Cow
Once this is done, if we give it an Animal Treat, the animal in question will follow us for a limited time. The idea is to return to the place where we built the Animal House while the animal follows us.
How to take care of your animals in LEGO Fortnite
Attracting animals to our Village to live in a Hut isn’t enough – we also need to pet and feed them to make them feel loved and not decide to leave. We can do this manually by leaving food like Raspberries, Sweet Berries or Pumpkins in their Huts, which act like a chest where we can deposit food and generate resources in return.
If we don’t want to do this ourselves, we can assign a Villager from our Town to carry out this task for us . To do this, we use the options Help the Village > Resource Tasks > Take Care of the Animals .
Making animals happy has the additional effect of increasing their movement speed.
What is the purpose of having domesticated animals in LEGO Fortnite and what resources do they generate?
Taming animals in LEGO Fortnite has a dual purpose: on the one hand we can have pets to take care of and in return they give us resources . These are the resources that each tameable animal generates in LEGO Fortnite:
- Pig: Mushrooms and Fertilizer.
- Sheep: Wool and Fertilizer.
- Chicken: Eggs, Feathers and Fertilizer.
- Cow: Milk and Fertilizer.
Following LEGO Fortnite patch 29.30, we can now have up to seven different animals in a single Village at the same time . Each Village now has ten inhabitant slots: three reserved for Villagers, three for animals, and four free-to-use slots for either Villagers or animals.
