How to tame animals in Fortnite

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 has introduced wild animals onto the map. These can be killed to craft materials or tamed so they can help you be the last player standing. In this guide we will explain how to tame wild boars, chickens and wolves in Fortnite .

As part of the Week 2 challenges, launching on March 25, players will need to tame a wild boar. But these are not the only animals you can tame in Fortnite.

How to tame animals in Fortnite

There are three animals that roam the map in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6. They are wild boars, wolves, and chickens. Here we explain how to tame each animal.

Tame wild boars in Fortnite

To tame a wild boar, you must throw a fruit or vegetable near it without it seeing you.

We suggest that you hide somewhere in the distance, crouch down, and then throw the fruit or vegetable right next to it.

When the boar starts to eat, crawl over it (still crouched) and hold X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, E on PC, or Y on Switch to tame the boar in Fortnite.

Tame wolves in Fortnite

To tame wolves in Fortnite, throw some meat at one and wait for it to start eating. When he does, slide back and hold X / Square / E / Y to tame him.

It should be noted that you will rarely find a single wolf roaming alone. Wolves tend to hunt in packs in Fortnite, just like they do in real life, so you’ll want to take out all but one to make taming even easier.

Tame chickens in Fortnite

To tame a chicken, just take it. Once you pick it up, you can jump off any edge and slide down safely.

Unlike wild boars and wolves, chickens do not need food to be domesticated.
