How can you tell if your OneDrive files have been linked successfully?
Once you have activated synchronization, you can check the status of your OneDrive files and thus check if they have been linked correctly, for this you must enter your OneDrive account and next to the files you will see an icon the which will indicate the current state of the file some of those icons are the red circle, synchronization arrows, contact icon, blue cloud icon, the green checkmark and the green circle with white checkmark.
the red circle
If a red circle with a white cross is shown next to your file, that means that file cannot be synchronized , so you should check why it cannot be synchronized and to do so you must click on the white or blue OneDrive icon in the notification area so you can get more information about the sync issue.
timing arrows
When circular arrows are displayed over OneDrive notification icons, it means that syncing for that file is in progress , this also includes files being uploaded or OneDrive is syncing new files from the cloud to your computer.
contact icon
If you see a “people” icon next to a OneDrive file or folder, it means the file or folder has been shared with other people.
blue cloud icon
If there is a blue cloud icon next to your OneDrive file, this indicates that the file is only available online , therefore you will not be able to open your file, as online files can only be opened if the device is connected to the Internet.
the little green dove
This icon is shown when it is possible to open a local file, but if you open a file online only, it is automatically downloaded to the device and then it will become an available file, and a locally available file can be opened whenever you want , even without access to Internet.
Green circle with white tick
If you have marked any of your files as “Always keep on this device” , the green circle icon with the white check mark will be displayed next to the file, so you can identify the local files on your devices that you want to keep forever.
