How to summon Satori in TOTK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)

Lord of the Mountain was such a great part of Breath of the Wild that it was only right that he returned in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Officially known as Satori, this mythical creature was a touching tribute to the late Nintendo visionary Satoru Iwata. However, this sequel also features some new mechanics with Satori. Here’s how to call it.

Where to find Satori in TOTK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)

To find Satori in Tears of the Kingdom, players must travel to the top of Mount Satori. This area is south of the Tabantia Frontier Bridge on the western side of Hyrule. Its coordinates are -2300, -0346, 0349.

At the top of this mountain there will be a cherry tree with a stone statue at its roots. The statue will be holding a stone bowl. Link needs to throw an apple or other fruit into the bowl and Satori will appear.

The once big difference from Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild was that players would not be able to ride the Satori, at least not after simply putting the fruit in the bowl. When Satori is summoned, a cutscene will play in which Satori places pillars of light over all caves in the immediate area.

The reason Satori does this is because each cave has a bubble frog and therefore a bubble stone to retrieve. Players will have to collect Bubbul Gems if they want to get the Satori armor set, so this is Satori’s way of helping Link.

Another interesting part of Tears of the Kingdom is that after Satori has been summoned once, he can appear in other Cherry Blossoms. I personally was able to summon Satori using the Cherry Blossoms in Black Mountain (it wasn’t me who hunted the heart radish at all). It seems that summoning Satori opens the caves around the area where he was summoned.

July 11, 2023 marks the eight year anniversary of Satoru Iwata’s death. Rest in peace Satoru, you are well remembered.
