GIFs fit very well into some chats and it is common that we want, at some point, to send short videos or Live Photos as GIFs in WhatsApp . Something that we can do very easily and without needing third-party apps. Let’s see how to do it.
How to create and send a GIF in seconds
There are several ways to create a GIF from a video or Live Photo. The easiest way, however, is to use the Shortcuts app . A few days ago we talked about a shortcut, which we can download directly from the link, to convert any content to GIF in just a few seconds.
Once we have added the shortcut to our library, we just have to run it and choose if we want to use a Live Photo or a video to create our GIF. If we choose the second, the shortcut will offer us to shorten the video to include only the part that we try. Then we will see a preview of the GIF and, if we like the result, we can now go to the share button to select WhatsApp and send our creation.
Before that, or later from the same WhatsApp app, we can add the GIF to our photo library to have it at our disposal without having to repeat the process. Interesting, perhaps, save it in an album, even shared, to be clear where to go to look for it quickly during a conversation.
Create a GIF from the iPhone in three seconds is possible with this method
As we can see, quickly converting a piece of video or a Live Photo to GIF to send it in a WhatsApp chat —or any other messaging app, in fact— is very easy. A process that takes three seconds and that, with a little creativity, can make the content of the conversation really interesting. The saying goes that a GIF is worth a thousand words .
