How to see the battery percentage in the status bar of our iPhone in iOS 16

The new version of the operating system that gives life to our iPhone, iOS 16 , brings several very, very interesting new features. It also brings a small detail that appears among all the novelties of beta 5 : the possibility of seeing the percentage of remaining battery in the status bar of our iPhone .

Percentage or graphical representation? That is the question

With this visible percentage, our iPhone will show us the amount of remaining battery numerically . Unlike normal operation, in which the battery indicator empties as its charge decreases, when showing the percentage it is only this that decreases.

It is only below 20% when the battery appears red and almost empty, to clearly draw attention. During charging, as before, the battery turns green and shows a lightning bolt next to the current percentage, while if we have low power mode activated it will show a yellow color. Note that, with the low consumption mode activated, we will always see the percentage of remaining battery, since it is activated automatically.

Normal display, with low power mode activated and during charging.

Activating or deactivating the display of the percentage of charge on our iPhone is very simple. The steps for this are as follows:

  1. We open the Settingsapp on our iPhone.
  2. We enter Battery.
  3. We activate the Battery percentageoption .

That is all. A small change that, however, has been on the wish list of some users since the iPhone X. Others may prefer not to have such an exact measurement of the state of charge and be guided by its graphical representation . Fortunately, in iOS 16, after opening the debate on whether the battery percentage is necessary , there is something for everyone. Whether we want to see or not see the percentage in the Settings app, we can decide what interests us most.
