The mysterious alien planet that Samus finds himself on in Metroid Dread is a hostile and treacherous place. Danger lurks around every corner and EMMI stalks you constantly, ready to make things worse. To save your game, you will have to go to one of the “Save Station” rooms located in the many corridors and winding roads in the game. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you find a room with a platform in the center. several rings floating behind, as shown in the screenshot below.

Rooms will also be marked on your map as a ‘save station’, which is listed just below the percentage of items you have collected.
Once at a save station, simply stand on the platform in the center of the room and wait for the “Save Game” option to appear in a pop-up window. Press A to confirm and the game will do the rest.
A short animation will play as Samus is surrounded and swept away by the floating rings, before being replaced, ready to continue his adventure.
Is there an automatic backup?
Unfortunately not. There is no autosave feature in Metroid Dread. Every time you want to stop playing, you will have to go to one of the rooms in the save station and manually save your progress that way.
