If you are thinking of restoring the contents of the iPhone Wallet , useful if for example you have used the app in the past and there are still expired cards and tickets inside, the steps you need to take are the following.
Let’s start with how to reset Apple Wallet and, in particular, how to cancel the credit cards present in it. Normally, when a card expires, your credit institution issues a new one, and Wallet data such as the number and expiration date updates automatically. However, if the issuing bank does not support automatic updates, you may need to remove the old card manually – here’s how.
First, access the Settings of your iPhone by tapping on the gear icon on the Home Screen or in the App Library. Then scroll to the entry Wallet and Apple Pay and locate the card to be removed in the Payment cards section ; then select it, scroll down on the screen that opens and touch the item in red Remove this card . Finally, confirm the operation by tapping the Remove item .
You can also get the same result directly from the Wallet app. After opening it, locate the expired card, press on it and then touch the icon with the three dots located at the top right. Again, just tap on Remove this card and then Remove again to confirm the operation.
If you have lost your iPhone or it has been stolen, you can delete all cards in Wallet and linked to Apple Pay to avoid unwanted purchases. Each operation, as a rule, must be confirmed using Face ID , Touch ID or the code , but as a further precaution it is good to “empty” your wallet completely by accessing the Apple ID page on the official website.
From the Apple ID management site , then, click on the Login button and enter your credentials: Apple ID associated with the iPhone (i.e. the e-mail address) and password . If you have two-factor authentication enabled , you will need to enter an additional code. The code will arrive via notification on connected Apple devices; enter it and wait for verification.
Find, now, in the menu on the left, the item Devices , click on it, select the lost / stolen iPhone and – from the page that opens – click on the Remove card button . To manage loyalty cards and other documents such as university badges , you will need to log in to the app (the procedure from Settings does not apply, as before ).
So open Wallet and scroll to the card you want to delete; press on it, touch the icon with the three dots and tap on the item Remove ticket / card . To confirm, once again, just tap the Remove button .
The procedure is simplified in the case of expired tickets , which are more difficult to remove manually – especially if there are many. The app stores by default the tickets that you can no longer use, but if this setting is not activated, simply go to Settings> Wallet and Apple Pay and press the Hide expired tickets lever so that it becomes one.
That’s it: from now on, old tickets will no longer flood your digital wallet! A special section of Wallet is relegated to expired tickets, which you can consult by pressing the View [number] expired tickets button at the bottom of the main section of the application.
From this view it is also possible to permanently delete them: to do this, touch the Edit item located at the top left and select the tickets you want to delete. To remove them all, then touch the Select all item and press the Delete button at the bottom . Easy, don’t you think?

The ‘ Wallet app icon is missing from the Home Screen of your iPhone? If you are not familiar with the iPhone and do not know where to start looking, in this chapter I will give you some useful ideas to find it; also applicable to any other default app that may not be found.
I said “untraceable”, not “unrecoverable”: you can restore the Wallet icon and I am sure that by following my advice you will succeed without difficulty. What you have to do, first of all, is to identify the root of the problem: if you have updated your iPhone to iOS 14 or later, it is possible that the Wallet app is simply hidden in one of the macro folders of the App Library , specifically in Productivity and finance .
In this case, just go to the Home Screen of your iPhone, reach the final screen (always swiping from right to left) and scroll to the Productivity and Finance collection . You’ll see three icons in their normal size and a series of two, three, or four others (depending on the number of apps inside) that are slightly smaller.
Tap these small icons to access the contents of the folder. The apps are arranged in alphabetical order: you will therefore find the Wallet app rather at the bottom.
If it does not exist, you will have to resort to other systems. One of these is to disable the iOS Restrictions , a series of functions that allow you to limit the use of the iPhone by “forbidding” access to some selected apps.
To remove them, go to Settings by pressing on the gray gear icon that you find on the Home Screen or always in the App Library , in particular in the Utility folder . From Settings , scroll to the Usage time item , select it and then press the App limitations item again . At this point, look for the Wallet app in the list, press on it and tap the red button Delete limitation . Then confirm the operation by pressing a second time on the Delete limitation button . Done! Restriction removed. Now, to make the icon reappear, you need to follow a further step: go back to the Usage time menu and touch the Content and privacy restrictions item . In the screen that opens, move the relative lever to OFF (the text that appears is always “Content and privacy restrictions”) and you are done.
If, on the other hand, you intend to restore only the Wallet app (and not all the apps that had been hidden), touch the item Allowed apps always present in the Content and privacy restrictions menu . You will see a list of various apps with their respective toggles next to them to disable them: locate Wallet and press the toggle to turn it ON . Done? Very good! Wallet has already reappeared in the App Library and / or among the apps on the Home Screen .
Another possible option is that the Apple Wallet icon has disappeared following a jailbreak . If you remember doing this, you can try to access the installed tweaks via Cydia and verify that the app has not been hidden in this way.
