Weapon repair in STALKER 2 is done through Technicians – special merchants in settlements who can repair your equipment and prevent it from breaking. However, finding Technicians and understanding the weapon durability system is not so easy, especially when you are attacked by bandits in the Zone. Below you can find out how the weapon repair system works in STALKER 2 and what you need to know.
Keeping an eye on your equipment is extremely important, as fast travel in STALKER 2 is only available between settlements. If your weapon breaks in the middle of the Zone, you’ll have a long and dangerous journey on foot.
How to repair weapons in STALKER 2
Find a Technician
To repair your weapon’s durability, you’ll need a Technician who, for a fee, will be able to repair your gear. For example, in the starting settlement of Zalesye (shortly after your first encounter with anomalies in STALKER 2), there is a Technician named Lenza. His workshop is located next to the Warlock’s bar.

Select a weapon to repair
In the Equipment menu, select the broken weapon you want to repair and click the corresponding button to confirm the repair. Please note that this is a paid service, and its cost depends on the condition of the weapon.
Repair Cost and Advice
- Free Repair: Repairing the starting weapon, “Skif’s Pistol”, will only be free at the start of the game. After the first upgrade, you will also have to pay to repair this weapon.
- High repair costs: Early in the game, repairing weapons can be expensive, especially for basic equipment. Instead of spending money on repairing simple guns, it is better to search for new weapons in the Zone.
- Keep a balance: only fix what you really need to avoid unnecessary expenses.
By following these simple steps, you can keep your gear in good condition and avoid getting stuck in the Zone with a broken weapon.
