How to remove the message to cast content to HomePod mini on iPhone

Handoff is the Apple alternative that allows us to start working on one device and then continue on another nearby device. For example, transferring a text that you are writing on an iPhone to a Mac, start listening to a song on the iPhone and continue on HomePod mini.

HomePod mini enters the smart speaker market.

The above examples seem beneficial most of the time. But, especially in the latter, audio could sometimes continue to be transmitted, such as voice memos. And if we imagine this situation at a party, the result might not be what we expected. Therefore, there is an alternative to remove the message of streaming content on a HomePod mini on the iPhone.

Manage the Handoff on the HomePod mini

To disable the Handoff between the iPhone and the HomoPod , it is not necessary to stop the process between other devices. Apple separates the two options in settings, so you can still enjoy Handoff from iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Apple Watch, without worrying about your HomePod model.

To deactivate the Handoff especially, between the iPhone and the HomePod, just follow the following configuration:

  • Open Settings.
  • Go
  • Scroll down to AirPlay & Handoff.
  • Turn off the Transfer to HomePodswitch .

At the end of the configuration, it will be totally safe to place an iPhone near a HomePod or HomePod mini that plays your music without worrying about the Handoff making a bad move on us.

Even though Handoff has been available since iOS 13, with iOS 14.4, the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 lineups even have haptic feedback as it gets closer to the HomePod , with an enlarged playback window once the Handoff occurs, increasing the ease of transmission between devices.
