What is ESET NOD32

ESET NOD32 Internet Security is an antivirus software developed by ESET, designed to protect computers from viruses, spyware, Trojans and other types of malware.

ESET NOD32 Internet Security is not just an antivirus, but a whole set of programs. They provide a comprehensive protection.

  • Antivirus and antispyware – protection against viruses, worms, Trojans and spyware.
  • Personal firewall – protection against unauthorized access and intrusions.
  • Anti-phishing  – protection against phishing attacks aimed at stealing personal data.
  • Antispam  – filtering unwanted emails.
  • Online payment protection – additional security for financial transactions on the Internet.
  • Parental control – content filtering to protect children from unwanted sites.
  • Webcam protection  – prevent unauthorized access to your webcam.
  • Network monitoring – monitoring and managing the network, protecting against vulnerabilities.

Why you may need to remove ESET NOD32 antivirus

Removing ESET NOD32 antivirus may be required for various reasons:

  • Technical issues: If your antivirus software is causing crashes, slowing down your system, or causing conflicts with other programs, you may need to remove it.
  • License expiration. When the license expires, the user may not want to renew it and decides to uninstall the program.
  • System Cleaning: Sometimes users may uninstall programs to free up disk space or clean the system of unnecessary software.
  • Reinstalling the operating system. When reinstalling the OS, all programs, including antivirus, are deleted and will need to be reinstalled.
  • Using built-in security tools. Some users may decide to use the operating system’s built-in security tools (such as Windows Defender), believing that they are sufficient.
  • Selling or transferring a device. When transferring a device to another user or selling a PC, its owner can remove all programs, including antivirus, to prepare it for transfer.

One of the main reasons may be the transition to other antivirus equipment. It is important to note here that after ESET left the Russian market, the company does not support Russian users, offering them an alternative in the form of PRO32.

What is PRO32

PRO32 is not a renamed ESET, but a new product. Its developer is a Russian company that has been the exclusive distributor of ESET since 2005. After ESET left the Russian market, the company developed new antiviruses based on K7 Computing technologies.

You can download PRO32 from the link .

If you have used ESET products before, here are the PRO32 products that are right for you:

How to uninstall a program using ESET Uninstaller

In most cases, you can uninstall ESET security products using standard Windows uninstall tools. However, if the program installation was not completed correctly, or if the program was uninstalled manually or using third-party software, you may need to use a special uninstall utility. It is called ESET Uninstaller.

Removing with ESET Uninstaller is unusual. You need to enter “Safe Mode” and then run the program. More details in the video.

Removing ESET products using uninstallers

If the built-in methods do not help, you can use the uninstaller.

Uninstallers are programs or utilities designed to completely remove applications and software from a computer. They can be built into the operating system or offered by third-party developers. The main task of uninstallers is to safely and completely remove all files, folders, registry entries, and other components associated with the program to prevent their accumulation and potential conflicts in the system.

What can uninstallers do?

Complete program removal: Removes all files and entries associated with the program, including temporary files and registry entries.

  • Installation monitoring.  Track all changes that the program makes to the system during installation, so that all components can be removed correctly.
  • Cleaning residual files. Find and remove files and folders left after a standard uninstall.
  • Removing system updates and drivers.  Some uninstallers can remove operating system updates and device drivers.
  • Autoload management. Ability to manage programs that run automatically when the system starts.
  • Forced removal.  Removal of programs that cannot be removed by standard methods due to errors or damage.
