Surely many of us, on occasion, have deleted a program installed on our computer with the intention of lightening storage space. But then, we realize that we need to use it and we don’t remember where we first downloaded it. If, for example, this has happened to you, it is possible to reinstall deleted applications in Windows 10 in several ways.
And is that when we find storage problems on our computer, we often tend to take the easy solution. This is none other than getting rid of applications that we consider useless or do not use much. But there are also accidents. How many times have we mistakenly deleted programs on our pc?
Whatever the reason, the fact is that in Windows 10 you can recover and reinstall deleted applications. And it is possible to do so through the options offered by the system itself, as well as with the help of external applications that are at our fingertips.
Windows 10 restore tool
The Restoration of the system is a tool that provides the Windows operating system itself. This option allows any user to return the state of their computer to an earlier moment in time. This action is possible with data and files, applications and programs previously installed, with the Windows registry or even with the system configuration. Therefore, if our system is giving us failures due to a possible update, we can repair it. The case of the recovery of deleted programs is not an exception either.
This so-called system restore point is activated when we install a new application or program on our computer, as well as with each new update. In this case, the files will not be affected if we reset our system. On the other hand, all the applications that have been installed afterwards will be removed. Therefore, this option must be calibrated well. It is possible that, by recovering an old program, we delete another application in parallel without wanting to.
To restore the system to a previous point, we must go to the search bar next to the Windows start at the bottom left of the screen. Here we type Restore and, in the drop-down, the option Create a restore point will appear . We click on this option and a new window will open. Within the System Protection tab , we click on System Restore .
The Files and system restore settings page will then appear . After clicking next, we continue and click the Show more restore points tab . Here, we will see a list where other previous points will be shown to us. These times coincide with the day we installed an application or a system update took place.
After choosing the restore point that suits us best, we select Detect by affected programs . Here we will see which applications will be affected by the restoration process. Then we close.
If we give the final approval to the affected programs, it is time to click on a previous restore point the day we install the program we want to recover, and we click on next . When we have everything safe, we click on finish. We select yes and the recovery process will start. This may take a few minutes. When the system recovery is complete, you will see a message informing you about it.
During this process, you may not see any restore points. In this case, the system will notify you and you will have to go back to the System Protection tab. It may be because the recovery option is not activated. To activate it, within the aforementioned tab, there is a button called configure . We must click there and make sure that the option Activate system protection is checked . Now we can create a restore point.
However, if we have reached this point, it is possible that you have never had the System Restore option enabled and you cannot recover the deleted program. But there are other options that do allow it. Before going through them, it would be recommended that you take advantage of this moment and create a restore point. This way you will avoid the problem in the future and you will be able to have your pc again as it is today.
Through applications
As we say, if the restoration tool that Windows offers has not solved the problem, there are alternatives. This is the case of applications that we can easily access. We are going to propose a couple of them.
O&O AppBuster
The O&O AppBuster application will, of course, allow us to reinstall any application that we have removed by mistake or lack of foresight in Windows 10. However, it is also useful for removing hidden applications, system applications or any other specific program.
First, we are going to download the O&O AppBuster application, which is free . Once installed and executed, its main window will appear. In it, a list will appear with all the programs and applications that we can reinstall. We look for the app that interests us, select it and click on the Actions tab . Here, we choose the option to install the application again. It should be noted that O&O AppBuster also allows us to create a system restore point. It is a very useful option if, for example, an error has arisen when reinstalling any program.
10AppsManager
10AppsManager is another alternative software if the previous one does not convince you, or you simply want to try more options. This program, which we can do at no cost, will also allow us to reinstall the applications that we have removed in Windows 10. Unlike O&O AppBuster, this program is ideal for reinstalling, restoring or repairing those applications that the Windows 10 operating system brings by default . If for some reason, we have removed any pre-installed programs in Windows 10, this tool is a solution.
This program is also portable. Therefore, we can save the file on a USB stick or removable hard drive, take it with us and run it on any computer without the need for installation .
When we start the application, we find a window full of icons with all the applications that Windows 10 brings pre-installed by default. With a single click, we can uninstall any program. From the Reinstall button , we can reinstall those programs that we have previously uninstalled or eliminated.
