How to print from Google Docs to iPhone

When smartphones first began to gain popularity, the prospect of printing something from them seemed like a pipe dream. The printer was already quite difficult to work on a computer, and it seemed unlikely that it would be able to work on a phone. But now we can print from Google Docs on our iPhone or Android device, and it’s surprisingly affordable.

Most modern printers have some sort of network compatibility, which means devices on the same network as the printer can use that printer if they can.

Mobile phones, but those using iOS and Android operating systems, can now print wirelessly to printers that support it. In addition, most of the applications from which you would like to print, such as creative and productivity applications, usually support some printing functionality.

The guide below shows you how to type through the Google Docs app on your iPhone or Android phone, and we’ll cover some of the common problems you might encounter if you can’t get it to work.

Why isn’t my printer listed?

Trying to fix printing problems can be challenging as printers are notoriously difficult to work with. If you combine this with the fact that you are printing from a mobile device, then there is a good chance that something will not work as expected.

The first thing to check when trying to print is that your mobile device is connected to the same wireless network as the printer. If your iPhone or Android device is not connected to Wi-Fi, you probably won’t see your printer.

The second consideration is that the printer might not be turned on. Many modern printers turn off if they have not been used for a while. If you don’t see the printer, but you know it should be there, try turning the printer off and on again (turning it off and on again), then wait a few minutes to see if it appears in the list of printers on your mobile device.

The last option to check is if the printer is AirPrint compatible. Since you cannot install print drivers on your mobile device, your printer will use AirPrint to communicate with your phone. However, not all printers have this feature. In addition, not all printers are network compatible. If your printer is not connected to your local network either wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable, you probably won’t be able to communicate with the printer through your smartphone.

Printing a Google Docs document from your computer using a web browser is the same as printing other documents. I’m going to follow the steps below in a Chrome browser, but you can also use a different browser like Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

Step 1. Go to https://docs.google.com and open your document.

Step 2: Select File in the upper left corner of the window.

Step 3: Select the “Print” option at the bottom of the menu.

Step 4. Adjust the print settings as needed, then click the blue Print button.

The number of options you can configure when printing from your iPhone or Android device is quite large.

With the Printer Options menu open on your iPhone, you can specify the number of copies you want to print, as well as the range if you want to print duplex and if you want to print in black. and white or colored. You can change other document settings from the Page Setup menu, accessible from the menu where you selected the Share and Export option.

There are more print options on Android, although you may have trouble finding them at first. After you select the Print option from the Share & Export menu and then select your printer, a small downward arrow will appear at the top. If you click this arrow, you will be presented with the following options:

  • Copies
  • Paper size
  • Colour
  • Orientation
  • Bilateral
  • Pages
  • More options

If you choose advanced options, you will be given the option to install additional device services or manage existing services.
