Applications to store passwords
To begin with, I would like to show you some applications for storing passwords which, I have no doubt, will be extremely useful for you. You can use it both from a computer , therefore on Windows , macOS and Linux , and from smartphones and tablets , i.e. operating from Android and iOS / iPadOS .
NordPass
The first of the useful applications for storing passwords that in my humble opinion you should consider is NordPass . As the name implies, it is a solution developed by the same company as NordVPN . It can be used on all major operating systems, both for computers and for smartphones and tablets, and is also compatible with all the most popular browsers . It allows you to save, manage and keep safe all your passwords for accessing websites (e.g. you can use it to store Google account passwords , to store passwords on Libero Mailetc.) and you can do the same with credit card data and other sensitive information by generating secure notes.
The saved data can be accessed with your own account from any device, thanks to an extremely secure cloud system. Also keep in mind that as a password manager with a zero-knowledge protocol, no one else will be able to access your data. Precisely for this reason, I invite you to keep your master password safe , as if lost not even NordPass will be able to recover it. All data is encrypted with the XChaCha20 encryption algorithm which guarantees complete security.
NordPass can be used free of charge, but to access the premium features you need to subscribe to one of the following subscriptions (the first 30 days are free): 2-year NordPass Personal Premium (33% discount) at 1.99 euros/month ; NordPass Personal Premium for 1 year (10% discount) at 2.69 euros/month ; 2-year NordPass Family Premium (53% discount) at 2.79 euros/month and 1-year NordPass Family Premium (38% discount) at 3.69 euros/month . More details can be found on the official NordPass website .
To download the software, go to the official NordPass website if you are using a computer with Windows or macOS , or go to the Play Store and App Store if you are using a mobile device with Android or iOS / iPadOS . Once on the main screen of the website, click on the Business or Personal buttons , according to your needs, and then click on the Free Trial button , then enter your email address and press the Start button .
Wait for the NordPass download to start and complete, then proceed with the installation: on Windows, simply double-click on the executable obtained, on macOS you need to drag the program icon to the Applications folder , while on Android and iOS /iPadOS the process is automatic after the download.
Once the application is open, log in by clicking on the Log In button or click on the Create Account button to proceed with the creation of your account.
After reaching the main screen of the application, you can decide to add the NordPass browser extension, useful for having quick access to all your passwords from your web browser.
Subsequently proceed to import the passwords, selecting the wording Import password , indicating the browser or other manager from which to import and following the instructions on the screen to complete the operation.
Once the passwords have been imported, you can easily access them at any time and from any device, provided, as anticipated, that you always remember the set master password.
Other applications to store passwords
If you are looking for other applications to store passwords, you can consider resorting to the use of alternative solutions useful for the purpose that I have provided in the list below. I have not the slightest doubt that they will be perfectly capable of satisfying you.
- Bitwarden( Windows / macOS / Linux / Android / iOS / iPadOS ) — it is a very famous password manager that allows you to optimally manage the access keys to your accounts, as well as confidential information relating to your credit cards, documents of identity, and so on. Allows saving your vault locally and on cloud storage services such as Google Drive . Basically it’s free, but by activating the paid subscription (at a cost of $10/year) you can access extra features, such as 2FA, sharing with family members, etc.
- 1Password( Windows / macOS / Android / iOS / iPadOS ) — is an advanced password management system that allows you to store access keys in the cloud, encrypting them securely, and to create separate vaults for multiple users or activities. Data synchronization can take place via proprietary servers, Dropbox or iCloud . It requires the subscription of a single or family subscription (at a basic cost of 2.99 euros/month) with a 14-day free trial.
- KeePass( Windows / macOS / Android / iOS / iPaOS ) — it is an efficient password manager but, in my opinion, dedicated to slightly more advanced users. It is in fact available in several versions and, at least initially, requires a minimum of manual configuration. There is no official app for Mac and mobile devices, but there are several solutions that are always based on the same “engine” and guarantee the excellent level of security characteristic of the “original” KeePass application which is only available for operating systems Windows.

How to store passwords on a site
Numerous portals offer the possibility of keeping access to one’s profile active even after closing the browser, thus eliminating the need to have to go to the login screen afterwards.
To be able to memorize passwords on a site , all you have to do is select the appropriate box on the access screen of the portal of your interest, even before completing the login: this box is usually called Remember me, Stay logged in , Remember your password or something very similar. This applies both to Internet sites viewed from a PC and to those consulted via smartphones and tablets.
In order for the access carried out with the methods already illustrated to remain active, the browser cookies must have been previously enabled: to make sure of this, I refer you to reading my guide on how to enable cookies, in which I have provided you with all the information on the case.
Finally, I would like to point out that, should the cookies be deleted at a later time, the logins made previously will be “forgotten” and it will be necessary to access the sites in question again.
How to memorize facebook passwords
Still on the subject of storing passwords on websites, if what interests you is storing Facebook passwords , all you have to do is connect to the relative home page via the browser, enter your access data in the appropriate fields and click, then, on the Login button .
No further steps are necessary, as Facebook will “remember” you logged in, until you manually delete your cookies or other website data.
The same goes for the Facebook app: after starting it, simply log in to it, entering your data in the appropriate fields. You will remain logged in (and your password will be “remembered”) until you manually log out .
How to memorize gmail password
The steps necessary to maintain access to the Gmail site , avoiding subsequent password entry, is equally simple.
To begin with, connected to the platform’s web page, enter your Gmail account or telephone number and press the Next button .
Then enter the password associated with your profile, press the Next button again and you’re done: access will remain active until you manually log out of your Gmail profile (or browser cookies are not deleted).
If your account is protected by two-factor authentication , remember to place the check mark next to the item Don’t ask again on this computer or Don’t ask again before confirming the notification received on your smartphone, or enter the single-use code received via SMS.
The speech is almost identical also for the Gmail app : after starting it, using the proposed modules, enter the credentials of your Google account and that’s it. The app will automatically remember the entered password and will not ask you for it again, until you manually log out of your profile.
