Potion making in Minecraft will not only consist of potions that deal damage, provide positive/negative effects or restore health. There is also a place for more specific potions that provide the most unusual, but extremely useful properties. In other words, such effects can be called mixed: they provide both positive and negative bonuses.
And the only such potion is the so-called “Potion of Charepash’s Might”. And since it is quite complex to create and requires knowledge of the mechanics of potion making, some players who do not have much experience in Minecraft may have difficulties.
Therefore, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the material presented below, which is designed to help you understand the basics of brewing turtle power potions. The guide analyzes absolutely every stage of potion brewing, all types of turtle power potions, and describes what ingredients are needed to implement the plan.
Minecraft Turtle Might Potion Review
The only difference in appearance between the turtle power potions is that the contents inside the flask are black. Other flasks are of a similar color – specifically those that contain the weakness potion. Therefore, they can sometimes be confused with each other. Moreover, the exploding versions of the potions can also be confused with each other: they also have black contents and identical flasks. However, there are no similarities with other potions.
On the other hand, turtle power potions differ from all others in that the target receives two effects at once – negative and positive. In addition, they are divided into six types, three of which are explosive variants. Of course, the ingredients for creating a particular turtle power potion also differ from each other.
How to make a turtle power potion in Minecraft?
The first thing to remember and understand is that absolutely any potion requires basic tools and materials to create even basic potions. In other words, without standard items, no potion in Minecraft can be created. In this regard, before you start brewing turtle potions, make sure that your character has:
- Brewing stand(serves as the base for brewing potions, i.e. it is the main block).
- Fire powder (like coal or charcoal, serves as fuel).
- Empty flasks and flasks with water (all of them are needed, as they serve as a starting base).
- Cauldron(acts as a brewing stand, but only for the Bedrock Edition of the game).
Turtle Power Potion
This is a regular level 1 turtle potion, so it also serves as a base for better versions of these potions. The duration is 20 seconds. After use, the character receives the effect of “Slowness” and “Resistance”. All these effects are characterized by the fact that the movement speed of any creatures is reduced by 60% (that is, it is equal to 2.25 blocks per second), but at the same time, the blocked damage is increased by 60%. And to create a regular turtle potion, you need to have the following ingredients:
- Turtle shell (crafted from scutes, which in turn drop from turtles).
- Crude potion (it can be created by brewing a flask of water and a hellish growth from the “Nether”).
With all the basic ingredients and basic items like a brewing stand/blaze powder in hand, you can begin the process of brewing a potion of turtle might. And for ease of understanding, if you have never used a brewing stand before, we recommend following these instructions:
- First, install the cooking stand, then open it.
- Blaze Powder – This should be placed in the top left slot.
- Turtle shell – you put it in the upper central slot.
- Rough Potion – you put it in the lower central slot, opposite the previous one.
- After all this, the character just has to wait until the potion is ready.
Turtle Power Potion +
This version of the Turtle Power Potion is a stronger version of the standard/regular flask. Therefore, it still retains the effects (Slowness and Resistance) with their base power, but the duration is increased. In fact, it is doubled, meaning it will last for 40 seconds.
So the Enhanced Turtle Potion is the only one with the longest duration (the only exception being the Exploding Enhanced Turtle Potion, as it retains the same duration). Otherwise, this potion only differs in the ingredients needed to create it, as you must have:
- Redstone/Red Dust (can be mined underground from redstone ore blocks).
- A regular potion of turtle might (serves as a base that upgrades to +).
Next, as soon as all the materials are ready, you can start creating the enhanced potion of turtle power. Again, for ease of understanding, we recommend that those who do not work well with the brewing stand simply follow the following instructions:
- First, install the cooking stand, then open it.
- Blaze Powder – This should be placed in the top left slot.
- Red Dust / Redstone – you put it in the upper central slot.
- Turtle Power Potion – Place it in the lower center slot, opposite the previous one.
- After all this, the character just has to wait until the potion is ready.
Turtle Power Potion II
This variant of the potion is considered the most powerful. The duration of the second level potion does not change when compared to the regular version (it also lasts for 20 seconds), but the power of the effects is significantly different from all the others (the only exception is the exploding potion of turtle power level two – it retains the effects of the original).
The target will still receive the effect of “Slowness” and “Resistance”, but the percentage ratio will be equal – 90% and 80%. That is, the speed will decrease to almost half a block per second, and the damage will only be 20%. As for cooking, to create it, you will first need to have the following main components:
- Lightstone dust (can be obtained in the Nether from Lightstone blocks).
- A regular potion of turtle power (will serve as a base to be upgraded).
Once all the materials are ready, you can begin the process of potion brewing. And for better understanding, players unfamiliar with potion brewing are advised to follow the following instructions for beginners:
- First, install the cooking stand, then open it.

Exploding Potion of Turtle Power
Absolutely all exploding types of turtle potions have only one difference – they can be thrown (unless, of course, you count the fact that the flasks are slightly different in appearance). At the same time, exploding potions retain the effects of those potions that served as a basis: they will have the corresponding duration of action and power of the effect. In addition, almost the same ingredients are always used for creation. Therefore, the character must have:
- Gunpowder (can be obtained from creepers, ghasts , witches or through the trade mechanic).
- Turtle Power Potion (Normal, Strong, and Tier 2 potions will do).
And when all the necessary basic ingredients are collected, you can start brewing the potion. However, if the brewing method is still unclear or you have forgotten some details, then we recommend following the following instructions:

How to get turtle power potion?
There are several ways to get a potion of turtle power: 1 – use the appropriate ingredients together with a brewing stand; 2 – try to knock potions out of mobs; 3 – use the appropriate commands. However, the most effective, simple and profitable way is still the commands.
With them you won’t have to spend much time and you can get absolutely any turtle power potions literally on the spot. Therefore, if this method interests you, then open the chat using the “T” key (necessarily on the English layout) and enter one of the following commands:
- To get the regular version of this potion while in the game, you should write – “/give @p minecraft:potion{Potion:”turtle_master”}”.

- Turtle Power Potions (all types) are part of several achievements. For example, without them, the character will not be able to get the achievement: “Local Potion Master”, “The Impossible is Possible!”, and “Energy Cocktail”.
- Turtle Might Potions in Minecraft are the only potion variants that can simultaneously apply a positive effect to a target, as well as a negative effect.
These types of potions have a rather situational effect, but if, for example, you need to defeat a large number of enemies in close combat, then it will greatly help out the character.
