How to make a map in Minecraft

Minecraft is not one of those games where you get everything done , quite the opposite. In Mojang’s title if you want to build something before you have to look for the materials. As for the map, more of the same. Right off the bat you don’t have access to the world map. All this along with other aspects of the game make Minecraft something unique within the genre, which is why it is so successful.

If you are new to Minecraft or you have just created a new world, then one of the first things that cannot be missing in your inventory is a map. Once you move forward and discover new areas it is very useful to know your position , otherwise it is very easy to get lost. Luckily making a map is pretty easy, as long as you have the materials.

How to make a map

Before explaining how to make a map, one thing must be clarified so that there are no misunderstandings. Once you have the map in your inventory, you will not be able to view the entire area. When you have crafted the map you will have to explore the world and as you do it, it will be unlocked on the map. Ultimately, you will only see the explored territory .

Materials needed and crafting

To make a map you need 8 sheets of paper and a compass . Now, sometimes it is possible to find a map in chests around the world. That said, to make a compass you need 9 sugar canes, 4 iron ores, a red stone, and fuel (4 blocks of wood or one of coal). Once you have these materials you have to go to the furnace and melt the iron ores to obtain bars . Next, on the work table you have to put the red stone in the center and around the iron blocks, so you will get a compass.

Time to create sheets of paper. On the work table you place the sugar canes in each of the grids . Next, you have to go to objects and select the icon that is shaped like paper. If you have done it correctly in your inventory you will have 9 hours of paper.

You already have everything you need to make a map. Let’s go to the last part. On the work table you have to put the compass in the center and the sheets of paper around it . It is done! You finally have a map and you will not wander the world blind.
