HOW TO MAKE A HOMEMADE INSECTICIDE?

When our crops are approached by the pests of aphids, ants or wasps, among others, the only solution is to treat it with insecticides.

But insecticides are not always good, since they are usually invasive and the result obtained from the planted food may not be as expected.

Therefore, there are a series of natural products that, mixing them, give rise to a good homemade insecticide, which is a perfect trick to kill pests and protect the plants in your garden.

Ingredients

4 ingredients are needed:

  • 6 cloves of garlic .
  • ½ liter of water.
  • ½ liter of white alcohol.
  • Neutral soap .
  • A spray container where to introduce the insecticide resulting from the mixture of these products.

Preparation

Once we have all the necessary elements we begin to prepare it:

  1. We peel the garlic cloves and chop them so that there are small pieces. Garlic is used because by nature it is insecticide, fungicide and repellent.
  2. Pour the ½ liter of white alcohol into the container and add the garlic, letting the mixture rest for a day. With white alcohol, the insecticidal power of garlic is further enhanced.
  3. The next day we add ½ liter of water and a splash of neutral soap to the previous mixture. Soap is used so that it adheres to the leaves more easily and stays on them longer, and water, to facilitate the dissolution of the entire mixture and that it can be sprayed.

And ready! We already have our homemade insecticide to kill the pests present in our garden.

Tips and advice for using homemade insecticide

Once you have your homemade insecticide, we will show you some tips on how to use it:

  • It is recommended that the insecticide remain in a dry and cold place, where it does not get sunlight so that it does not spoil. If it is not going to be used for long periods, such as weeks or months, it is best to put it in a refrigerator to preserve its properties.
  • If you know what specific day you are going to use it, it is better to prepare the insecticide the day before so that its power in gardening is even more effective.
  • Homemade insecticides are recommended in gardening for the orchard, since being made with natural products they are not toxic to food, which insecticides made are.
  • It is not recommended, even if it is a homemade insecticide, to eat, drink and / or smoke while spraying, since it can fall on food and smoking will have more dilated lungs.
  • Spray the insecticide at a medium distance from the plants, so that too much product will not fall on the leaves or branches, which could break them.

We hope that this homemade insecticide together with the tips , will help the gardening in your home be better and your plants stay healthy and safe from pests.
