How to build a dog house in Minecraft
If your goal is to build a dog house in Minecraft , in the next chapters I will explain how to do this by following the instructions for the realization of this simple project.
Resources needed
For the doghouse project I will tell you about in the next chapter, you will need some essential resources. First, you will need some steps . The latter will have to be produced in two variants: one in wood and one in brick.
As for the wooden Scalini , you need to enter, in a workbench , 6 Planks of wood units . If you don’t know how to make Wood Planks , you just have to work the wood you collect from trees: therefore, in a workbench or in the Inventory Crafting slot , put 1 unit of Wood Log .
The Brick Steps , on the other hand, are obtained by combining 6 units of Bricks in a workbench. In case you have any doubts about how to get Bricks in Minecraft, know that you have to melt some clay in a furnace and then combine the resulting materials in a workbench. If you want to know more about it, I recommend reading my guide on how to make bricks in Minecraft . He also creates Slabs of bricks by placing 3 units of Bricks on a workbench .
Another item you will need to craft is the Wooden Trapdoor . In this case, you can proceed by adding, in a workbench, 6 units of wooden planks , arranging them in two horizontal lines. Finally, build a Sign , which will be used to write the dog’s name on the kennel: you can easily get it with 6 units of wooden planks and 1 unit of staff .
In case you want to embellish the kennel, you can add a Fence post , a Leash and a Vase , to simulate the bowl with food. The latter can be crafted with 3 units of Bricks in a workbench. Building the dog house
Now that you have everything you need, let’s see how to tackle building a dog house in Minecraft . First of all, what you need to do is make a 3 × 2 rectangle-shaped area on which to start building this project. My advice is to set up the kennel outdoors, perhaps in the garden around your shelter .
Once this is done, start by placing 2 units of wooden steps on one of the two short sides of the rectangle. At this point, leave the central area free and then add the other 2 units of wooden steps to the other end of the rectangle .
All steps must be facing outwards. In the back area of the kennel, add a wooden hatch to the floor and then raise it to close the side.
At this point, perform the same operation you did for the wooden steps, but this time using the brick steps : these must be positioned right on the wooden ones, with the same orientation, and will act as a canopy.
At this point, finish the project by adding two layers of Brick Slabs to the center of the canopy. Right on the latter, in front of the kennel, also place a sign , taking care to enter the name you want to give to the dog.
Now you just have to add the Vase and the Fence in front of the kennel, to complete the project.
Mod to build a dog house in Minecraft
In addition to the solution that I proposed to you in the previous chapters , know that on Minecraft Java Edition for PC there is a mod that allows you to add a series of tools for managing dogs, including a kennel or, better to say, a bed where these can rest.
Don’t know what a mod is? It is simply an add-on that extends the functionality of the base game. In order to work, however, it is necessary to install the free Minecraft Forge tool from the respective official website . Now it’s time to download the Doggy Talents mod directly from the CurseForge.com website . Connect, therefore, to the latter and click on the Download button to download the .JAR file of the mod, which you must then place in the mods folder in the main directory of Minecraft.
In case you did not know the Minecraft installation path on your computer, it is generally C:\Users\\nome utente]\AppData\Roaming\.minecrafton Windows and ~/Library/Application Support/minecrafton Mac OS (you may need to enable the view hidden folders , to see it). If you don’t find the mods folder , you can create it manually .
I remind you that when you download Minecraft Forge and the mods for this add-on, you need to make sure that their versions are compatible with the game client. Therefore, if the latter are not compatible with the latest version of Minecraft, please change it to the compatible one.
At this point, simply proceed with starting the Minecraft launcher : press the ▼ icon next to the Play button and choose the Forge profile from the proposed menu. You just have to press the Play button to start playing Minecraft with mod support.
Starting a world in Creative mode , open the inventory of the avatar and scroll the tabs located at the top: you will find the tabs related to the Doggy Talents mod , including one that contains all the beds in which the dog can rest. Happy?
