From the browser

Twitter has taken steps to provide security to its users in a number of ways, including two-step verification and the ability to log out of Twitter across devices .

If you are on your computer or mobile device, you can close Twitter from the online platform by following these steps:

  1. Enter tohttps://twitter.com/settings/applications(the section that lists active sessions and connected apps) and log in to your Twitter account if you haven’t already. Another way to access this section is by going to Twitter > Tap the three-dot icon  > Settings & privacy > Account > Apps & sessions.
  2. In the ” Sessions” section you can see all active Twitter sessions with your account. You can click on each session to see information about the date and time of the last activity; and if you want, you can end each of these sessions by clicking on “Log out of the device shown.”
  3. To close all active sessions, press the ” Close all other sessions” button. Pressing this button will end all sessions except the current one.

In the ” Applications ” section, you will be shown all the applications that use your Twitter account . This happens when you connect an app to your Twitter account; this means that you have granted it access. To close it, you must press on the application and click on ” Revoke access “. This way, the application will no longer be able to use your account.

On Android

Logging out from your Android device is very easy.

  1. First you need to go to the top menu and press your profile iconor the navigation menu .
  2. Then you must press on “ Settings and privacy”.
  3. Then click on “ Account”.
  4. There you will press the “ Close Session” button and all you need to do is confirm that you want to log out of Twitter on Android.

With this, you will have already logged out of Twitter. It is worth mentioning that with this process you are not deleting your account, and you can log in again with your data whenever you want.

On iPhone

With iOS you can log out of Twitter in three different ways . Let’s see,

From the application

  1. Go to your profile, you can do this through the top menu.
  2. Then click on “ Settings and privacy”.
  3. Then go to where it says “ Account”.
  4. Finally, click on “ Log Out”.

Delete your Twitter data on your device.

  1. Go to “ Settings” on your mobile.
  2. Click where it says “ Twitter”.
  3. If you have multiple accounts, tap the one you want to delete.
  4. Press “ Delete account”.

This option does not delete your Twitter account, it only erases the login data on your iPhone.

Revoke access

In this case, we will log out of the iOS applications. To do this, you must go to your browser and log in to your Twitter account.

  1. When you open it, follow the next path: Settings and privacy/ Account / Applications and sessions , as we explained at the beginning of the post.
  2. Now open the “ Applications” tab.
  3. There, search for and select the Twitter app for iPhone or iPad.
  4. When you find it, click on it and click “ Revoke access”.

In the PC

  1. If you have Twitter installed on your computer, you’ll find that logging out is very easy. Just press the icon with three dots and click “ Log Out.” That’s it, pretty easy, right?

How to enable two-step verification on Twitter

If you try to log out of your Twitter account after using it, you will not run the risk of intruders breaking into your account.

However, if you still want to add a little more protection to your account, you can activate two-step verification .

This feature makes Twitter ask you for additional information to confirm that it’s you and thus keep your account protected. We’ll show you how to do it:

    1. Go to your Twitter account profile .
    2. Then go to “ Settings and privacy”.
    3. Then click on “ Account”.
    4. Now click where it says “ Security”.
    5. There you will see the option “ Login Verification”.
    6. Check the boxand a pop-up window will open explaining how this verification works.
    7. You will need to enter your password and press the “ Verify” button.
    8. If you do not yet have a phone number associated with your account, you must click on “ Send code” to register it, otherwise you will automatically receive a code on your mobile.
    9. Enter the code and then press the “ Submit” button.
    10. Finally, click on “ Get security code”. This code is generated by Twitter and you will use it to access your account.
