AIDA64 is an analysis software, which will analyze all our equipment in search of the hardware installed in it , in such a way that we will obtain a complete summary of everything we have, the frequency at which all the memories work, and also the temperatures of the components.
The download of the program is completely free and below, you will see how to know the latency of the RAM memory with AIDA64 by following these steps after downloading the program:
- The first step will be to install the program and run it.
- Now when we open the program for the first time, it will analyze the computer in search of all installed hardware, once we are in the main window we will have to access the “Tools” menu .
- Now we must click on “Memory and cache performance” .
- Another new window will appear where we can run the analysis and later see the results.
- Click on the “Start benchmark” button to start the performance test.
- Now we must wait for it to finish and we can see the latency that our RAM memory has.
- When it is finished we will be able to see the latency expressed in nanoseconds.
Another method also with AIDA64 is to run a device latency comparison:
- To do this you will have to click on “Performance” in the left menu .
- Now you must click on “Memory latency” .
- Click on the “Start” button and you will run a latency test.

CPUZ, complex and useful hardware recognition program
CPUZ is another free program with which we can see the latency of the computer’s RAM memory, it works in a very similar way to AIDA64, since both analyze the computer in search of all the hardware it has , follow these steps to know the latency of RAM with CPUZ:
- Install and run the program.
- Once open, look for the “Memory” tab .
- In this window you will see all the information on your computer’s RAM memory, find where it says “CAS # Latency (CL)” and you will see the latency processes expressed in “clocks”.
- Another way is using the “SPD” tab of the same program, if we click on it we will see that we can choose separately the slots where we have installed the RAM memory.
- In our case we have a computer with different RAM memory and therefore the latencies are different.
