Knowing the weather information is something that is always useful when making our plans, for example if we are going on vacation or if we plan to do some outdoor activity (or simply put on a washing machine). And although there are a large number of apps designed to check the weather forecast, if you are in Catalonia, the most useful one for you is probably METEOCAT . This is the app of the meteorology service of the Generalitat de Catalunya, so it offers you the data that goes directly to the official bodies about the weather.
The application, as those of all public entities usually are, is completely free. In addition, it is available in both Catalan, Spanish and English, although it has the limitation that it only offers you information about the weather in Catalonia . To know if it is going to rain, all you have to do is choose the region or town for which you are interested in knowing the weather forecast. Below you can see the weather for the next few days, and in more detail for the next few hours. And this way you can rule out the arrival of rain that could force you to change your plans.

If you’re worried about weather-related issues a little more important than rain, you might be interested in knowing if there’s going to be a thunderstorm with METEOCAT . In principle, on the home screen where you can see the weather you will find an icon that will tell you if there is a forecast for a thunderstorm in the next few hours or days. And it is also recommended that you check the Rain section, where you will see if it is going to rain. In the Notices section you can see if there is a forecast of any event that may be worrying.
There is also a section called Settings with which you can configure this application to send you a notification every time there is going to be a major weather event. This can be especially useful to know if there is a thunderstorm, since if there is a related alert it will reach you directly to your smartphone. Of course, you will have to keep in mind that you must have enough empty space on your screen to be able to place it. There are applications that have several different widgets available, so you can choose the one that best suits what you need. Once you have selected the one you want, you will only have to place it on the part of the screen you want and you will always have the weather information in the palm of your hand.
