How to kill the Headless in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice?
Before facing a Headless, keep in mind that it is practically mandatory to have Divine Confetti , Peacekeepers and/or the Purple Speckled Pumpkin . Headless on the ground have two health bars.
Once this is done, every time we face one of these dangerous enemies on the ground, the strategy is to run looking for their back to give them a few hits . The Headless cannot attack us as long as we are behind them , and what they will do is rotate on their own axis to face us. The biggest problem we can have against them is the terrain, and how the camera responds to it.
We have to keep the run button pressed at all times because the Headless generate a fog that slows us down. Be careful when they disappear, because they will teleport behind us to do a powerful grab attack.
The Purple Phoenix Fan will protect us from all of its attacks , and we can even deflect its blows.
We must keep an eye on our Terror levels at all times to prevent it from killing us by accumulation.
How to kill the Water Headless in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice?
We cannot fight the Headless Ones underwater without the Mibu Breathing Technique . In addition, for this type of Headless Ones we will need the Purple Speckled Gourd to avoid dying from terror. We cannot use certain items such as the Divine Confetti underwater, so we will have to use them on the surface. The strategy is similar to the one we follow with the Headless Ones on land: find their back, hit them two or three times, and rotate with them .
From afar they will launch sword blows with a projectile-like shockwave ; we must close the distance with them as we dodge them. When they are going to carry out a suction attack, we must move away from their suction radius if we do not want to receive a tremendous amount of damage.
These enemies are easier to kill than their ground counterparts because they only have one health bar instead of two.
Keep in mind, though, that the underwater Headless One in the Fountainhead Palace fights alongside an illusion that summons ranged attacks that can do a lot of damage, as well as distract you. The real Headless One is the brown/grey one , while the blue one is an illusion. Only the real one will take damage .
