Until Dawn Remaster (2024) is an interactive horror adventure with great freedom of action that players get. The fate of each individual character depends on the actions of the gamer (although I will immediately add that the death of one hero can lead to the death of the same outcome for another).
All your decisions affect the fate of the characters in Until Dawn, and the most interesting thing about this title is that you can get two completely opposite endings: if earlier we talked about how to save all the characters in Until Dawn (2024), then in this guide we will focus on getting the achievement “This is the end”. To do this, you will have to go the other way and, which is usually unusual for video game fans, ensure the death of all the game characters (and not only). And do not think that killing all the heroes is easier than saving them: there are secrets and subtleties here too!
There are a total of 8 main characters in the game, and their lives depend on the decisions you make. Here are some tips on how to kill all characters in Until Dawn 2024.
How to kill Jessica
After you get to Blackwood Mountain, during the first three chapters, the decisions you make will not affect the fate of the characters. However, starting from the fourth chapter, you will be able to kill Jessica. When she is grabbed by the Wendigo, do not rush to save the girl. You can also deliberately fail all the QTE sequences or choose a safer route, not taking shortcuts and giving the Wendigo enough time to get rid of Jessica. You will understand that you did everything correctly (for this guide) when you find the girl with her jaws torn out.
How to kill Chris
Chris’s life largely depends on his relationship with Ashley. Already in Chapter 5, you can trigger a chain of events that will lead to his death. To do this, when you have such a choice, decide to save Josh instead of Ashley or point a gun at her when both characters are tied to chairs. This will affect his further fate in Chapter 8, when the wendigo chases the guy. You can deliberately miss and fail tests so that the wendigo catches up and kills Chris. Even if he gets to the house, Ashley should remember his trick in Chapter 5 and refuse to open the doors.
How to kill Matt
Matt appears in Chapter 5, but you can kill him much later. However, if you want to see him die, you will have to start with Chapter 6. When Emily suggests climbing the fire tower, immediately agree with the girl. In Chapter 6, point the axe at the deer to provoke a fall from the cliff. If Matt survives, then in Chapter 10, instead of hiding , choose movement: the wendigo will notice the slightest movement and kill the guy.
How to kill Ashley
Ashley can only be killed towards the end of the game, in Chapters 9 and 10. In the first case, she must move away from the group, and then the Wendigo will hunt the girl. The Wendigo will imitate Jessica’s voice and call Ashley for help. If you decide to check the source of the noise and follow the voice, opening the hatch, you will fall straight into the clutches of the Wendigo. The monster will kill the girl. If she avoids this trap, then you will be able to kill Ashley already in Chapter 10.
How to kill Josh
Josh is one of the few characters who can only be killed in Chapter 10. When Sam and Mike are moving through the water, go forward without turning onto the ledge on the left where Hannah’s diary is located. Without the diary, you won’t be able to save Josh!
How to kill Emily
Emily can die in Chapter 8, although her death is also possible in Chapter 10. So, in Chapter 8, when the Wendigo is chasing her, turn right instead of heading towards the elevator. Let the girl stay on the conveyor, deliberately failing the QTE sequence so that the Wendigo catches up with the girl. If you direct her to the elevator, take your time and do not press the button. The Wendigo will appear soon and finish the girl off.
How to kill Mike
Mike, like Sam, is a very tough and strong character, and can only be killed at the end of the game. However, you can only do this if the hero loses his fingers in a bear trap in Chapter 5. To finish Mike off completely, playing as Sam, do not save him in Chapter 10.
How to kill Sam
Sam is one of the toughest characters in the game, and can only be killed in Chapter 10. She can die if you make a series of bad decisions and fail QTE challenges. The easiest way is to let her die along with Mike in the final episode inside the guest house when they confront the wendigo.
How to kill Hannah
Hannah turns into a wendigo at the very beginning of the Until Dawn storyline. That is why you can only kill her closer to the end of the game, according to the plot, if you go for the good ending. In the events that occur during the game, she has long ceased to be human, her fate is predetermined due to cannibalism after falling into the mine with her younger sister Beth. However, you can influence the ending with her participation depending on the actions of other characters. If you do not look for Hannah’s diary in the flooded cave, you will not be able to save Josh. As a result, he will not know that the wendigo is his sister, and the monster does not recognize him as a brother and will definitely kill the guy. However, Hannah herself cannot be killed within the gameplay (the monster dies as a result of your successful actions in the final episode inside the guest house).
How to kill a wolf
If Mike does not show affection for the wolf , it may die, although the fate of the beast is not connected in any way with the game’s achievements. If you do not block the door for the wolf, the wendigo will find and kill the beast. An alternative option is to fail one of the QTE sequences, and then the wolf will take the blow and die.
Once the last characters die in Chapter 10, you’ll earn perhaps the game’s darkest achievement, “This Is the End.”
