How to Kill All Bosses in Dark Souls 3

Dark Souls 3 has an unreal number of cool bosses, the battle with each of which turns into a dangerous test. The boss always tests the player for strength, and it is in the third “Souls” that each leader gives a real hard time. In this guide, we analyze the tactics for killing each boss in Dark Souls 3.

Judge Gundir

The very first boss in Dark Souls 3, which you will encounter at the beginning of the game, is an easy opponent if you clearly understand what to do with him. Most of Gundyr’s attacks can be parried with a shield or jumped away from with a dash . The easiest way is to wait until the boss performs his series of attacks (all of them, of course, must be learned) and attack in the resulting time window.

The second phase is where the fight gets a little more challenging, as Gundyr grows a huge parasite from his back that deals a lot of damage and covers a wider area. Try to deal as much damage as possible during his transformation – sometimes that’s what makes the difference.

Vordt of the Cold Valley

Vordt can be a serious threat if you don’t take advantage of his slowness. He’s a very slow and leisurely opponent who deals a lot of damage in one hit. So the best tactic is to wait and attack his weak spots from behind – just stand in front of his butt and strike while dodging his attacks.

Stay close to his right arm, which is without a mace. This is a good spot to constantly damage Vordt and avoid counterattacks.

In the second phase, the boss will have several powerful ice attacks and an ice aura, which makes the battle a little more difficult. But the tactics remain the same: we come from behind and hit him on the ass until the boss comes to his senses and tries to respond.

The Cursed Great Tree

In the battle with this boss, it is important to understand right away: attacking his body is useless, all damage he receives from destroying spores on his bark. In the first phase, his attacks do not pose much of a threat and are easy to dodge. You can completely ignore the surrounding minions , because they die from his blows.

By the second phase, you will fall through the floor along with the tree. Now it will become a little more active and add a couple of new attacks to its arsenal. Our tactics remain the same: carefully watch the boss’s actions and attack the vulnerable spot on the hand – it should become your main target.

Crystal Charm Expert

The first boss sorcerer in the game, who does not pose any danger. No, really, he is very easy: you just need to dodge his not very fast spells and reduce the distance to deal damage. After missing a couple of attacks, the Expert will disappear and appear on the other side of the arena – repeat the above steps.

In the second phase, the tactics do not change, but the difficulty increases slightly due to the phantoms of the Connoisseur. This is how he tries to confuse you. This is not scary, since  they die with one blow and only delay the quick death of the boss.

Deacons of the Deep

Another not the most difficult boss of the game. In fact, you need to concentrate all damage on one specific healer, who glows red, all the others can be ignored.

In the second phase, a particularly powerful Archdeacon will appear with additional attacks, and the minions will become more aggressive. The combat tactics remain virtually unchanged, with the exception of enemies with a blue aura – they heal their leader, so they should be killed first, so that the boss does not restore health.

Guardians of the Abyss

The first serious boss on our way. At first, the Guardian fights alone, but then his partners join the fight. Well, as partners, they don’t care who to beat, so most often they will clash with each other. You should keep them in sight and take advantage of the moments when they are busy with each other.

In the second phase, the main Guardian will cover his sword in fire and take several deadly blows. At this point, it is important to keep only him in the camera lock and watch the attacks carefully. Wait for dashes or any attacks that can be easily dodged, and attack back.

Dark Souls adepts can put the Guardian on parry with a shield, for this you need to understand the mechanics well and press the buttons in time.

Old Demon King

Quite heavy, but at the same time extremely slow boss. He has sweeping and unhurried series of blows, but they do a lot of damage.

The best tactic is to study his patterns carefully and attack in the resulting windows. Try not to rush into trouble and attack only after his series, otherwise you can lose a third of your face.

Poison attacks also work well on the boss, as he has weak poison resistance.

Supreme Overlord Wolnir

Wolnir’s key weak point is his golden bracelets , you need to hit them. And it is very important to kill the boss quickly, since he slowly climbs up, and upon reaching the target, he instantly kills the character. The lord does not have many attacks, and each of them is easy to read. Basically, he likes to wave his arms (dodge) and release poisonous smoke, it is better to just run away from him.

Wolnir also summons various skeletons to help him. It is better to kill them immediately, but do not lose sight of the bracelets and set your priorities correctly. If there is an opportunity to damage the boss, it is better to hit him a couple of times.

Giant Yhorm

Yhorm may seem like an impassable boss. Of course, he’s huge, deals a lot of damage, and has resistance to almost any element. In the first phase, he slowly walks towards the hero and menacingly swings his huge sword, causing colossal damage. In the second phase, fire damage and several new moves will be added to his arsenal.

The giant’s only weak spot is his head. To get to it, you can equip a bow and arrows and shoot at the skull. Sooner or later, Yhorm will stagger and fall to his knees, opening his head for your sword.

But there is a much simpler option: find the Storm Lord weapon in the battle arena . It is located near Yhorm’s throne . Note that to kill the boss, you need a special sword attack, which means it must match your character’s characteristics. If everything matches, then you need to hit the giant on the head and pounce on him with your main weapon.

Pontiff Sulivan

Despite his flabby appearance, Sulyvahn is a fast and deadly fighter . He has a large number of combos and lunges, and some attacks kill on the spot. The best way to kill the pontiff is to parry and block with a shield (if you have a good shield, of course), and actively dodge any of his attacks.

In the second phase, Sulyvahn grows wings and acquires new attacks, even more dangerous than the basic ones. The tactics do not change: carefully reduce the distance and watch his attacks, strike back and quickly retreat to a safe distance. If the boss starts attacking with magic, it is better to immediately run away and hide.

Important: In the second phase, Pantyphic will start summoning his own shadow, which will bother you and prevent you from defeating the boss. It is best to ignore it, as Sulyvahn will summon a new one after the first one dies.

Dancer of the Cold Valley

Probably one of the most spectacular and memorable bosses in Dark Souls 3. And one of the most difficult to boot! The fight with the Dancer is very nerve-wracking, as she attacks very unpredictably, sometimes the pattern of her behavior is very difficult to pick up. She attacks with sweeping blows vertically and horizontally, and also uses various attacks.

It’s best to stay close to the Dancer’s feet, as some of her attacks have very large hitboxes. They simply won’t reach you.

In the second phase, the boss takes out a second sword and becomes even more crazy. Almost every attack she makes gains additional properties, and the additional blade deals bonus magic damage. This also adds some problems.

Aldrich, Devourer of Gods

Despite his pompous name and pompous appearance, Aldrick cannot be called a difficult boss. In the first phase, he throws all sorts of spells at the player, and in the second, he gets an additional combo attack.

The easiest way to kill the Devourer of Gods is to jump around it and hit its back and tail. If the boss teleports around the arena, you can easily catch up with it and continue hitting its back.

Don’t be shy about attacking Aldrich’s tail when you get behind him. The damage will be significant even then.

Dragonslayer Armor

In appearance, the enemy turns out to be a fairly ordinary boss. It is simply a large knight who slowly attacks with a weapon and hides behind a shield. Therefore, the tactics against him are appropriate: dodge blows and attack when possible . Also, a working method will be parrying, if there is a moment to do it and you are confident in yourself.

In the second phase, the boss becomes more aggressive and acquires new types of attacks. However, our strategy does not change, we continue to block or dodge blows and deliver our own.

Lorian and Lothric

In the first phase, the player is only confronted by Lorian. He is a very slow fighter with a small number of attacks, so there should be no difficulties with him. Much more interesting is the second phase, after the start of which Lothric appears in the arena. He sits on his brother’s back and revives him, and also gives him new attacks.

It is important to kill Lothric , so attacks from behind will be a good help in this battle. Periodically, the boss will teleport around the arena and throw magic at you, it is worth dodging this or hiding behind the columns.

If you take away all of Lorian’s health, Lothric will begin healing him. At this point, he is open to any attack, but it is important not to miss the timing: after the healing is complete, he will explode.

Oceiros, the Consumed King

One of the most unpleasant and tough bosses in the game with a large arsenal of attacks. Oceiros skillfully works his weapon and can reach the player at almost any distance, as well as poison or fall from above. To survive the first phase, try to stay close to his feet when he finishes his series. If he flies up, it is better to run away as quickly as possible and do a somersault at the end.

In the second phase, Oceiros goes crazy and stands on his hind legs, becoming even faster and more dangerous. Now he rushes around the arena and gives out blows with his jaw.  The best tactic here is to wait for dashes or jumping attacks . Dodge them and attack the boss before he turns around.

It’s important not to get carried away with this, because Oceiros can perform a spin attack and knock you back, as well as deal a lot of damage.

Champion Gundir

Remember Gundir? Well, he remembers! Especially his enhanced champion version, even stronger. In the first phase, however, the Champion does not differ much from the Judge: he uses only a spear and various strikes and series .

The tactics for this stage are extremely simple: carefully block his attacks and dodge his jumps, dealing damage to safe windows.

In the second phase, the boss will become faster and more aggressive, and will also receive new attacks. In particular, he will attack more actively with his leg – this is one of his most unpleasant blows. He will also have a dash, with which he will try to get you from afar. Therefore, it is worth healing very carefully in this fight.

Ancient Wyvern

Despite its impressive appearance and high damage, this is the easiest boss in the game. You don’t even need to hit it, the tactics are a little different. Immediately after the wyvern appears, run around it and move left along the ruins, killing dragon lizards along the way.

After crossing the bridge under enemy fire, climb onto the scaffolding to the left of the exit from this location and make your way along it to the wyvern’s head.

Now it is very important not to miss and jump right on her head and hit her in mid-air. It is best to wait until she finishes her fire attack and calms down a bit so that the hit is accurate. If you miss, you will have to run through the entire location again. One run is enough to kill the boss.

The Nameless King

Here he is, the terror of all players in Dark Souls 3 and one of the most difficult bosses. All the heat begins in the second phase, because  the first is quite easy . The King flies on his dragon above the arena and periodically lands. At this moment, you need to hit the lizard on the head and try not to get it from the Nameless. After several such approaches, the dragon will die, and the King will absorb its power and enter the second phase.

Starting from the second phase, Nameless King will rape. He has a huge arsenal of different attacks and abilities, some of which will one-shot you.

Despite all this, the King is killed without sophistication: you just need to learn all his patterns and animations. Do not try to understand his sequence or try to manipulate the series – nothing will work. This fight goes through overcoming yourself and a lot of work on mistakes, you can’t take the boss by storm.

Soul of Ashes

Here it is, the final boss of Dark Souls 3. However, if you managed to defeat the Nameless King, expect a slight disappointment. In this fight, you will understand that the final boss was precisely him, and not the Soul of Ash.

In the first phase, the boss uses several different types of weapons. He can switch between a sword, a spear, and a magic staff. However, he attacks very reluctantly and does not do much damage. Therefore, we just run around him and wait for the right moment to attack.

In the second phase, the Soul of Ash will gain several new skills and will even be able to heal. At the moment of healing, he needs to be filled with as much damage as possible, since he becomes completely defenseless.

Now let’s look at the tactics for fighting bosses from two add-ons: Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City.

Champion’s Gravekeeper and Great Wolf, Gravekeeper

Attacks the hero surrounded by three wolves. Upon reaching 50% health, summons a giant wolf to help. At the same time, the Champion’s Gravekeeper picks up the sword left in the arena. It is best to start the fight by killing the three wolf minions. The Champion’s Gravekeeper is distinguished by his swift attacks and easily dodges spells. Reflects the hero’s attacks with a sword.

The Great Wolf is vulnerable to attacks from the side and from behind. It has a huge attack radius. When fighting it, it is best to be near the columns. When the wolf loses half of its health, it will activate an attack with ice breath. So be careful.

The most effective tactic against him is single and double rolls. If you manage to get close to the wolf’s head, you can perform a critical hit.

Father Ariandel and Sister Frida

Despite the name, the battle will only be with Frida. The girl can go invisible, at this moment the hero needs to get as close to the girl as possible, then her spell will wear off. You can track Frida’s attacks from invisibility with the help of snowflakes flying around. Sometimes she attacks with ice, which explodes after a second.

If the girl gets into a stance, it is best to run away, because Frida’s attacks are very fast. When repelling attacks, it is better to use a roll, since the scythe strikes ignore part of the shield.

It is better to use a two-handed sword to increase the chance of immobilizing Frida. Also, the girl can be knocked down with a successful series of three or four blows.

Demon Prince

At the beginning of the battle, the hero will have to fight two demons. Each of them has different types of attacks. As the battle progresses, the opponents replace each other. The main boss comes to the arena after the death of two servants. All have great protection from fire, and using magic against them will be problematic.

When the wings appear behind the demon, a sphere appears around the back, throwing the character back when it explodes. Additionally, it activates flying spheres that fly into the air and attack the hero. All three enemy types are vulnerable to bleeding. The most effective weapon against them is the Black Knights.

Midir the Dark Eater

The boss’s most vulnerable spot is his head. It’s not advisable to be near his tail. Almost all of Midir’s attacks deal massive damage, but they’re easy to predict. In addition to attacks with his paws, he uses fire breath and flies into the air. When he reaches 50% health, the boss gains a new area attack, and his classic attacks are modified.

With the second phase, Midir gains the ability to concentrate and release dark energy, causing great damage. The main thing to pay attention to during the fight is to hit the head as often as possible. If the condition is met, at 30% health the boss will receive a stunning blow and fall for 3-4 seconds. During this time, he will be especially vulnerable to all types of attacks.

Spear of the Church

Along with the boss, players will have to fight a hostile phantom. It also summons blue spheres that attack the character from the air. Weapons with a large attack radius, such as Gundir’s halberd, are best suited for fighting it.

The boss summons guardians of paintings, the faster you kill the first one, the better, because after some time the Spear of the Church will summon another guardian. In addition, the guardians actively use healing. Has increased vulnerability to fire.
