How to keep your dog entertained in winter

These activities will keep your dog exercised and stimulated all winter long.

Walk with your friend

Bundle up well, this includes your dog, especially if its coat is short, and go for a walk.
Walking at a good pace, with an energetic gait, this will allow you, in addition to having a fun time, to perform a stimulating aerobic exercise.

Introduce new toys

Take the opportunity to get new toys to gradually introduce them during this period.
You can use the Kong type toys to fill them with their favorite snacks or any type of toy that your dog has a predilection for playing.

Visit the Trainer

Lack of exercise during the winter months can lead to unwanted behavior problems.
If you had considered some type of training, the winter months may be an optimal time to do it. Your dog will burn mental and physical energy and will receive the necessary stimulation to be in the company of other dogs.

Participate in social activities

Dogs usually enjoy outdoor activities. Take the opportunity to visit markets or fairs and let your dog participate in the hustle and bustle. New smells and sounds will keep you distracted and it will be a good time to make new friends.

Teach you some tricks

Get some basic training book and teach him easy obedience tricks. In addition to showing your dog’s talents, it will strengthen your relationship.
Work in short but intense sessions. Don’t forget to reward him when he obeys you and arm yourself with patience while he tries. You can start the exercises with the commands “Sit” and “Give the leg”.

Play indoors

Indoor games can be just as fun as outdoor games. Playing hide and seek to find their favorite toys or treats can be quite a feat for your pet and keep him entertained and busy for hours. You just have to hide them in strategic places and order him to look for them.
Another fun activity is to play chasing the ball or any toy. If the space in your house allows it, you can play to throw his toy, trying some difficulty to collect it, and wait for him to deliver it to you. This game allows you to reinforce commands such as “Sit”, “Still”, “Go” or “Search”.

Invite your friend over

If your pet has a favorite canine friend, with him he is perfectly compatible, and you can also count on the complicity and help of his owner, why not invite him to play at home?
You just have to have a space where they can play quietly, free of obstacles and delicate objects that can break or stain.

With all these ideas, it will be impossible to get bored in winter!
