Microsoft has announced the basic requirements for installing Win11 on the computer. The minimum requirement for win11 is to prompt that the computer must meet TPM 2.0, and TPM 2.0 needs to be turned on to install the Windows 11 system normally. Then some friends are unhappy. My computer does not support turning on TPM2. What about .0? Is it impossible to install win11? Today, Xiaobian will teach you how to install win11 without TPM. Here are some ways to install win11 without TPM.
TPM 2.0 requires chip and BIOS/UEFI firmware support. This is a hardware limitation. How to install win11 if some old computers do not have TPM 2.0? Let’s teach you several methods. Before teaching you, let’s first understand what TPM means and the role of TPM.
What does TPM2.0 mean?
TPM is actually a Trusted Platform Module, the full name in English is Trusted Platform Module, which is an international standard for secure cryptographic processors. The latest version of TPM is 2.0, which is the version required for Win11 to run. Generally speaking, TPM has a separate chip, integrated on the motherboard.
The role of TPM:
TPM is a module that implements trusted computing technology and is a security chip that is often used to store keys. Kind of like the security part of the Apple T-series. TPM is an international standard for trusted computing technology. Windows must use this chip to implement security features such as Windows device encryption and advanced BitLocker encryption, helping Windows to protect your data more strictly. TPM is not the only function, and protecting data security is the most basic function for consumers. In fact, this kind of thing should have been mandatory long ago. Windows 10 is a suggestion, Windows 11 has been changed to a minimum requirement, and I support it with both hands and feet for the strong push of TPM. New motherboards support Intel PTT or AMD’s similar technology. And slightly older old motherboards must also have TPM jumpers. However, TPM modules are not easy to buy because of compliance issues in mainland China.
How to confirm whether you need to turn on TPM?
Many Windows fans are disappointed that they won’t be able to upgrade their existing PC or laptop to Windows 11 due to non-compliant hardware standards. In some computers, the TPM function has been turned on by default, so you can install the Windows 11 system without any operation. So how to confirm whether the computer needs TPM to install the windows11 system? You can use Microsoft’s official ” Computer Health Detection ” tool to detect whether it meets the requirements for installing Windows 11.
If the computer prompts that there is no problem, then install win11 directly. If it prompts that the computer does not support win11 installation and cannot turn on TPM, you can use the following methods to install it.
Method 1: U disk enters PE mode to install WIN11, skip TPM detection ( recommended method 1 is the best ) if you encounter problems during installation , you can add a group to solve the problem, group number: 606616468
Preparations: 1. First download the PE system tools , then make a U disk to start, enter the PE system through the U disk, and then operate. 2. If you need to activate the official version of win11 , please refer to ( win11 activation tutorial ). If you don’t have a U disk, you can solve it by purchasing a U disk system .
Matters needing attention: Note that the computer with win11 system is installed to match the boot mode and partition type, uefi+gpt or legacy+mbr (this method is not restricted by tpm2.0 and secure boot)
- After making the PE system, select the U disk to enter PE through the shortcut, run the “Xiaobing system installation” tool on the desktop, and then click Browse to find the win11 iso image file we downloaded in the U disk, and use the C disk as the system. disk, install the win11 system in the c drive, click OK, as shown in the figure:
2. Then choose to reinstall the system, after entering the installation interface, the first step: choose to find the win11 iso image file we downloaded in the U disk, the second step: choose the system installation drive letter, generally the default is C drive, but pay attention In the case of dual hard disks, you must select the correct drive letter. Step 3: Perform one-click installation to start installing the win11 system, as shown in the figure:
3. After one-click installation, start to mount the iso image, select the install.wim file after mounting, and then confirm to wait for the Windows11 installer to be released, and the computer will automatically restart the computer.
4. After unplugging the U disk and restarting the computer, the system will automatically complete the subsequent program installation, until the desktop is seen, the system is completely installed successfully. This method can directly skip the TPM detection and achieve the purpose of installing the WIN11 system, but it is recommended that the computer with too low configuration should not install the win11, especially note that the win11 system requires UEFI to start before installation.
Method 2: Modify the original ISO image
- Copy the Win10 installation image (use the Win10 21H1 image test) and find the [appraiserres.dll] file in the [sources] directory. Paste it into the corresponding directory of the Win11 image and replace it.
Note: Both Win10 and Win11 images need to be decompressed. Direct mounting cannot perform file replacement or direct deletion. - After replacement , return to the root directory to run setup
- Win11 can be installed without error.
Method 3: Modify the registration method
When we are installing the mirror image, Win11 will prompt “This computer cannot run Win11”. The prompt is mainly because Microsoft has minimum configuration requirements for win11, and it is necessary to enable tpm2.0 and secure boot to pass the test. You can operate as follows Just install it.
- Set the U disk to start to install win11, as shown in the following figure;
- Select I don’t have a product key, as shown below;
- If your computer does not have tpm2.0 and secure boot enabled, it may prompt “This computer cannot run windows11”, as shown in the following figure;
- Press Shift+F10 in this interface to open the command line interface, enter regedit to open the registry, then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup, and then create an item named “LabConfig” as shown below;
- Then create two DWORD values under “LabConfig”:the key is “BypassTPMCheck”, the value is “00000001”, the key is “BypassSecureBootCheck”, and the value is “00000001”, as shown in the following figure;
- Then we return to the previous step, and if you click another step, you will not be prompted that the computer cannot install Windows 11, as shown in the following figure;
You can install Win11 normally.
