It is here when the need to have a phone whose internal space is expandable via microSD cards becomes especially important , it is possible to configure the Android operating system in such a way so that the installation of apps is carried out on the microSD.
To do this you need to insert the card into the microSD slot , you probably have to turn off the phone for that, although some other phones allow you to insert it without turning it off. Once you have entered it, you have to follow a few steps:
- Click on the “accept” option that will appear when you insert the microSD card in the terminal, so Android will know that it will use it as the main storage medium.
- If this possibility does not appear, go to the settings / storage and in the “default write disk” or similar section, mark the microSD so that this is the default space that Android will use from now on.
- Now go to the settings / information of the mobile and press several times on “build number” to activate the developer options.
- Go to settings again and now enter “development options” , within there you will have to activate an option called “forced download of apps in external memory” or similar, in this way the installation of new apps will be done in the microSD.
It is important to enable this last step because it is especially suitable for that, so that the applications are installed “forcibly” on the microSD , so the phone storage will remain free and you can use it to save photos, videos, etc.
