What is personal efficiency? There are many answers to this question, but they all come down to one thing: it is the ability to achieve your goals in the shortest possible time, with maximum quality, while preserving energy for the future. After all, it is very important not only to achieve the set goal, but also to leave strength for new achievements. In other words, personal efficiency allows you to do everything (or almost everything), and easily move on.
Unfortunately, if you are not interested in your work and do not enjoy it, then it is extremely difficult to talk about personal effectiveness. No one can do something they do not like for a long time, actively and efficiently. Therefore, first of all, think about what in life brings you creative joy and pleasure. Find such an occupation, even if it is very far from what is written in your diploma or work book. And please, do not be afraid of change – as a rule, it is always for the better!
2. Define goals
You’ve found your favorite thing. What’s next? Formulate your goals for the coming year. Determine what needs to be done to achieve them, work out a step-by-step plan. Goals should motivate you. Set ambitious but realistic and final goals. Most importantly, do not forget about your plan and act to implement it. It should become your navigator, not a document that you will never open.
3. Self-discipline and time management
In today’s world, time is always short. Almost any job requires multitasking, a quick response to everything at once. How to cope with this avalanche? And how does the plan for achieving goals from the previous point fit into this? It seems impossible, because you still need time for family and household chores, and at least half an hour of silence for yourself.
Self-discipline, time management and an absolute ban on procrastination. No matter how much you want to drink another cup of coffee and read a fashion blogger, remember that this is minus half an hour that you did not have enough for something significant.
Start each day with what’s important. Keep a list of weekly tasks. Each morning, identify three tasks that are important to complete today. Don’t get distracted by other issues until you complete them. Then look at the rest and choose the ones that you’ll enjoy completing. By the way, short breaks during the workday will help keep your eyes open.
Separate work and personal time. Put your phone away for dinner. You’ve already completed three important tasks for today, and maybe even a couple of those that made you happy! And if force majeure happens, first listen to your child’s story about why Vasya was wrong, and only then run to save the world.
4. Quality
Nobody wants a poorly done job. It will have to be redone. And that means you will spend twice as much time on it. Do it well the first time.
5. Physical activity
Sports, sports, sports and more sports! The one you like and enjoy is the key to a good mood, vital energy and strength. And that means that in order to continue and move forward with a smile on your face – you can’t do without it.
