Started a stream, but viewers can’t hear you? In this article, we’ll tell you how to increase the microphone volume in Discord, why the device may not work, and how to adjust the sound in the messenger in general.
Low volume
If your Discord viewers can’t hear you or can’t hear you well, it’s likely that you haven’t adjusted your microphone volume. This is done in the Sound & Video section of your settings — a mandatory section when preparing a stream. Follow our instructions! We’re explaining this using the desktop app as an example, but if you’re having trouble with the mobile Discord, you’ll find the same settings there.
- Open the app and sign in to your account if you haven’t already.
- Now, at the bottom left next to your username, click on the gear icon – these are the messenger settings.
- Go to the Voice and Video section – itis located in the left menu in the Application Settings block .
- Find the volume indicator and adjust it!
Also check the volume level in the OS settings. On Windows 11, this is done as follows.
- Click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the taskbar.
- Click VolumeOptions .
- In the Inputblock , select Microphone .
- In the window that opens, find the volume indicator and set the desired level.
