In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will find an impressive open world with a lot of opportunities, dangerous enemies and valuable items. Every adventurer will want to fill their pockets with the most useful and rare items that can be useful for combat or sale. Unfortunately, you will not be able to mindlessly take all the items and resources you find. Each item in the game has its own weight in the inventory, the maximum carry weight of which is severely limited at the beginning of your playthrough. Below we will tell you how you can increase the maximum weight available to you.
Maximum carry weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2 plays an important role, not only in exploring the open world, but also directly affects combat. The armor and weapons you wear will weigh you down, so you may have serious problems when wearing particularly heavy armor and a two-handed sword. Carrying a burden increases stamina consumption and reduces movement speed, which can be critical in combat. Below you will learn how to lighten your load and increase your maximum carry weight in the game.
Look for gold bugs
While exploring the open world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ve probably come across strange golden bugs. They’re large, so they’re hard to miss. At first glance, you might think they’re used as ingredients for potions, but they actually serve one purpose – to increase the player’s maximum carry weight.
All you have to do is find them and eat them right away. Eating golden bugs gives you an extra 0.15 kg to your carrying capacity permanently. Your main pawn also gets a bonus to its maximum weight.
Try to carefully examine your surroundings when traveling in the open world. As a rule, bugs are found in large trees near the main roads. Pawns with specialization in picking up items and resources can help in finding them, but they add them to their inventory. Keep an eye on your companions and check their findings. It can also be easier to find bugs at night, when they are most visible.
Share your burden with the pawns
This is the easiest way to increase your carrying capacity. All you need are companions to whom you can give all the extra items. By dividing the inventory between four characters, you can carry an impressive arsenal of weapons, resources, and other items.
To give items to allies, go to your inventory, select the item, and select the “Give” option. You can then choose which pawn to give the item to. Be careful not to equip the item to someone else’s pawn, as this will cause you to lose the item indefinitely.
It is worth noting that all important items: armor, weapons, potions and valuable resources, should be divided between your inventory and the main pawn. Everything else can be given to the other two pawns. This is necessary to do to preserve your property. If other pawns die and you do not have time to resurrect them, their entire inventory will disappear forever. You can also accidentally forget something important in their pockets when you need to remove them or replace them.
Improve the weight of your gear
This method will not increase your maximum carry weight, but will help to significantly lighten your inventory. For this, you will need a special NPC that lives in Battal. It is impossible to miss it, it is part of the main plot. You can come to it during the game or on your own, using the map below.
To do this, you’ll need to get to Battal. According to the story, players will eventually gain access through the main gate in Checkpoint Rest Town. If you want to go the other way, you can either hide under the black cart as it passes through the gate, or take the treacherous route across the river that runs underneath Checkpoint Rest Town. It’s an hour and a half journey, but it’s worth the effort.
Leave things in storage
Another way that will allow you to significantly lighten your inventory. In each city and regular settlement there are taverns – hotels where you can rest. This place serves not only for separate preservation and restoration of strength. Here you can leave all your items for storage. You do not need to carry all the items with you, they will always be available to you from the storage, in any other tavern.
You can put all materials and ingredients there. Even when upgrading equipment, it is taken from the player’s current inventory, as well as from his stashes. Therefore, there is no point in carrying anything with you except a couple of stones of movement, health items, etc.
