How to Increase Inventory in Hogwarts Legacy

The only way to increase inventory capacity at Hogwarts

Inventory management is one of the ongoing tasks that Hogwarts Legacy players face . At the beginning of the game, you will have 20 slots for storing items of equipment, which can be found literally at every turn in the game. This may seem like a lot of slots, but you will soon realize that loot chests are literally scattered all over the place, and as equipment increases in performance as you level up and progress through the game, you will have to destroy or sell unnecessary things. In this guide, we will explain what you need to do to increase the capacity of your inventory.

To solve the lack of free space, you first need to unlock additional inventory slots by completing Merlin’s trials, which are unlocked after completing the mandatory story quest “Merlin’s Trials”. This task will begin a few hours after the start of the game, and until that moment you still have to suffer and visit Hogsmeade or another village where there is a merchant more often.

During this mission, you will receive comprehensive information on how to complete Merlin’s trials, which are a series of unique puzzles that require the use of various spells and sometimes the environment. After you complete the quest, pay attention to the images of “leaves” scattered throughout the map. These are the tests of Merlin, and there are several dozen of them at once.

Each completed challenge will count towards the Research challenges in your journal. Pay attention to the branch “Complete Merlin’s Trials”. First you need to complete a couple of challenges in order to increase the capacity of the inventory for the first time. Each time, the number of tests for the next inventory upgrade will only increase, although each time you will receive a strictly specified number of cells – four additional inventory slots. If you go through all the stages, you can increase your inventory to 40 cells.

To get your first inventory upgrade, I recommend taking the Merlin trials closest to Hogwarts and Lower Hogsfield as they are some of the easiest in terms of requirements and overall difficulty. And do not forget that in order to get an upgrade, you need to open the magazine, the “Trials” section, go to the “Research” category and pick up the reward. And in a separate guide, we tell you how to complete the tests of Merlin of all available types.
