In Nightingale, as in any other survival game with RPG elements, an important part of the gameplay is the player’s equipment. As you complete quests and develop your hero, you need to monitor the quality of the equipment you use. To successfully explore the various worlds of the game and kill bosses, you will need to increase the rating of your equipment, and in this guide we will tell you how to do this.
Improving the rating of equipment is an integral part of the gameplay in Nightingale. Increasing the quality of equipment not only affects the characteristics of the character, but also allows you to explore particularly complex worlds and open new portals. Below you will learn the basic information about the equipment in the game.
How to increase gear rating in the game
Your gear score is the yellow number above your gear slots, to the right of your inventory. Each piece of gear has a score, and the number at the top is the average of all the items you have equipped.
To access the Antique Place of Power, one of the starting teleporters, you need to raise your average gear rating to 20 or higher. This means that each slot must have an item with a rating greater than 20. This is not as difficult as it may seem, because you can use the Basic Tailoring Works to make the “Basic” gear set you unlocked in the starting quests.
You’ll need quite a bit of leather to craft everything you need, but you shouldn’t have any trouble getting the materials. Don’t forget to upgrade at least one of the tools and the umbrella, as both the primary and secondary slots also count towards your gear score. The Basic Workbench should have the recipes you need for this.
At this point, there is no need to upgrade all of the tools, so don’t waste materials if you don’t intend to upgrade them. You can upgrade your gear in this way in the future when the game or world difficulty dictates it. The armor rating determines the degree of effectiveness, so the higher the number, the better the gear will be for you, regardless of its properties.
