To increase the rarity of your equipment in Outriders, you will need to speak to an NPC at your main camp; more specifically, Dr. Zahedi. It will be available once you complete the main story mission where Shira asks you to find it. If you haven’t reached this point in the game yet, focus on progressing through the main story until you do.
Once Dr. Zahedi is at your camp, talk to him to open your crafting menu. Next, select the Enhance Rarity option from your list of menu options.
From there, you will be able to increase the rarity of an item of equipment with a specific resource. For example, an item with a common classification can be made unusual with iron or leather. Passing an item of unusual rarity to Rare, meanwhile, will require titanium, and so on.
