You will get your first sheep on the 1st day of summer of year 1 . Cross the bridge from your farm to the second area where your barn was originally located and you should find a sheep walking around.
Go ahead and press A to tame it, now you can name it and select the barn you want it to go to.
A sheep can be sheared every few days and its wool can be used to make yarn, which in turn can be used to make cloth. This can be a very lucrative additional source of income. That is why we recommend that you have more sheep when you have sufficient funds to do so.
Once you have your first sheep, you can go to the Olive Town pet store and buy a sheep for 3000G. Note that you cannot buy a sheep from the store until you find and tame the first one on your farm.
