Anyone who plays Mario Party is still obsessed with the boards, the characters, the minigames, and just about everything else besides the elements. How to get and use items in Mario Party Superstars
There are several ways to get items in Mario Party Superstars. Neither way is necessarily better than others, but some allow you to get free items.
Object space
This is one of those ways to get free items. When you land on an item space (a green space with a mushroom), an item minigame begins. You may not get an item if you fail the game, but it is much easier to get something than nothing.
Lucky space
If you land in a Lucky Space (blue space with a white four-leaf clover) you will have a chance to win an item or coins. Like a roulette wheel, a yellow cursor scrolls through items or coin values that you could win. Press A to stop it. It will not stop instantly, so you need to press the button accordingly.
Toad shop
Each Mario Party Superstars card contains Toad stores where you can purchase items. Many boards will have them very close to the start so that you can hit one on your first pitch. At the beginning of the game, Toad will have inexpensive items that will not fully open the game, such as Double Dice, Warp Block, and Skeleton Key. But later in the game more expensive items like the Gold Pipe may appear.
Space event
Sometimes landing in an event space will give you a free item. It depends on the events that occur on the particular card you are playing. But you will never get anything particularly spectacular like at Toad’s Shop.
Using elements
Once you have an item in your inventory, you can use it at the beginning of a shift. Before rolling a block of dice, navigate to the menu option titled Items. From there, you can choose which element to use. Note that you can only use one item per turn, and it can only be used before casting that turn.
