How to get invisible blocks in Minecraft

You’ve explored nearly all of the inventory available by default in Minecraft , Mojang’s well-known sandbox title, but couldn’t find certain items. For example, you would need an invisible block to create a kind of barrier or to use in some buildings. You’ve tried everything, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to create it. Well don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place!

In this tutorial, in fact, I am going to explain in detail how to have invisible blocks in Minecraft. In case you’re wondering, yes, I’ll be looking at both the PC version of the game and the mobile and console version. In short, I can assure you that at the end of the guide you will be able to place the coveted invisible blocks on Mojang’s title map.

That being said, why don’t we start by entering the magical world of “cubes” together? Even if you can’t see them in this case, they can be very useful! To proceed, you just need to take a few minutes to break and follow the quick instructions below.

Preliminary information

Before going into detail about how to get invisible blocks in Minecraft, I think you might be interested in learning more about this possibility.

Well, invisible blocks are, as the name suggests, units that can be placed on the ground but cannot be seen by the player. Players use them to create, for example, a closed area with invisible boundaries.

To give a concrete example, when the user tries to go to the edge of the map in some games, his character “collides” with invisible walls, which do not allow him to go beyond that point and explore unfinished or unplanned areas. In short, it is a way of delimiting a certain place.

Obviously, since Minecraft relies heavily on creativity, players have found various ways to use these types of blocks, integrating them into their creations.

For example, some people have managed to create invisible armor stands so that they can hold monitors for their gaming workstations. In addition to this, there are those who have created flows of water that would otherwise be impossible to achieve.

In short, learning how to get and use invisible blocks can be very interesting, as it gives you access to new game possibilities.

How to get invisible blocks in Minecraft?

After explaining what the invisible blocks are for, I would say that it is time to act. In this chapter, then, I’m going to explain how to get them in the Java edition of Minecraft for PC.

Once in the game, in creative mode, press the T button on your keyboard, type the command / dar \ [username] minecraft: barrier and press Enter.

No mod is needed to get the invisible blocks – just use a special command. The first thing you have to do is enable the commands in your game. To continue, start the game, go to the single player path> Create a new world> More world options and set the Commands option to Yes. Remember to press the Done key first and then the Create a new world button to confirm.

At this point, a block with the prohibition icon will be generated directly in your character’s hand. The game calls it Barrier and it is an invisible block that serves to delimit the border. Try to put some barriers in front of your character.

Then press the T button on your keyboard, type the command / survival in game mode, to switch to survival mode, and press Enter. Great, now you will see that the blocks you placed earlier will be invisible.

Then press the T button on your keyboard again, type the command / gamemode creative and press Enter to return to Creative mode and arrange the invisible blocks however you want.

In some cases, you may have to restart the procedure to retrieve the Barrier Block and see where it is placed. Great, now you have learned how to get an invisible block in the Java edition of Minecraft for PC.

Of course, what I explained to you is just the basics. In fact, in the Mojang title, you can also make other items invisible, like the armor supports.

If you are interested in learning more about this topic, I suggest you check out my tutorial on how to make a gaming workstation in Minecraft, in which I explained in detail how to make invisible stands for monitors.

How to have the invisible blocks in Minecraft PE?

If you’re a Minecraft fan, you’ll know that there are essentially two versions of the game: Java, which I told you about in the previous chapter, and Bedrock, which is available for Windows 10, mobile devices, and consoles.

Now I will focus on the latter, taking the mobile edition as a practical example. By the way, for the sake of information integrity, the latter is no longer called Minecraft PE, but only Minecraft.

To proceed, you must activate the cheats of the game that you want to use to get the invisible blocks. To do this, start Minecraft, press the Play button and choose whether to create a new world or modify an existing one (using the pencil icon).

After that, simply go to the Game tab and set the Enable Cheats option to ON. Please note that you will not be able to achieve your goals this way.

Once you’ve entered a game in creative mode, tap the chat icon in the top center, type the barrier / give [username], and confirm.

Now place a Barrier on the ground, open the chat again, type the command / gamemode survival, give the confirmation and you will see that the block will become “magically” invisible. I remind you that you can return to creative mode through the creative / gamemode command.

You may have to repeat the procedure for the Wall to see this type of blockage again. In any case, perfect: you have learned to generate “invisibility” in the different editions of Minecraft.

As for the console game versions, the procedure is the same, although the way of writing the commands changes. For this reason, it may be interesting to consult my guide on how to open a chat on PS4.
