One of the main attractions of Genshin Impact is its addictive gachapon system . It’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting to get the best characters and even spend our own money. However, is it necessary to do so to get good prizes? The answer is no. I have been able to get five-star characters like Klee with a little luck and by using the protogems. And how can we get them? I’ll tell you about it below.
The idea behind obtaining Primogems is to exchange them for Wishes in the shop. There are two types of Wishes: Intertwined Fates or Fateful Encounters. The difference between the two is whether they are Wishes for an ongoing banner or a temporary event banner. I would generally recommend saving up for events, as this is the time to get special characters and weapons.
There are several ways to obtain these gems:
- Completing daily quests: There are four daily quests and you get 10 Protogems for each one. Additionally, if you go to the Adventurer’s Guild and redeem the rewards for completing them, you’ll get 20 more. A total of 60 per day.
- Open Chests: Simple chests usually give simple loot plus 5 Primogems. It all adds up!
- Redeem Codes: Codes are often released that allow you to redeem a certain number of gems or other prizes. Just keep an eye out for all the news about them.
- Opening challenge chests: these are chests that we obtain by completing very specific challenges that the game establishes. The reward for opening one, apart from the loot inside, is 10 more protogems.
- Finding Fast Travel Points: Throughout Teyvat, we will find many Fast Travel Points that will give us some Protogems as a reward for having discovered them. They are usually around 5 gems.
- Check your mail: This is important, as the game often rewards you with rewards for being part of it or if there is a specific event. You can get a lot of gems this way.
- Rank Up: It’s not the best way to get gems quickly but it can also give us some extra savings.
- Progressing through the story: Just as completing daily quests provides gems, so do main quests. Depending on their difficulty or length, the amount may vary.
- Overcoming dungeons: completing dungeon areas will reward us, apart from chests and such, with some protogems that will not hurt our pockets.
- Reading the tutorials: One way the game gets newcomers to read the tutorials is by giving them rewards in the form of protogems.
- Making Offerings: The Archons need to be looked after and are very grateful. Making offerings at the Statues of the Seven will earn you some gems.
- Completing achievements: These are challenges that are available in the menu and that have one reward or another depending on their difficulty.
Dust and Starlight
There is another, somewhat less common, way to obtain wishes. This is through Starshine or Stardust.
- We get the Starlight when we make a gachapon roll if we get a character that we already have. 1 wish costs 5 glow.
- Stardust is obtained by rolling as well, but we receive 15 for each weapon we get. 75 Stardust is equivalent to one wish.
