How to get Escalation armor in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

How to get Escalation armor in Zelda Tears of the KingdomThe Escalation gear is one of the most agile armor sets in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.. Like the Barbarian Armor, this set returns from Breath of the Wild, although the methods of obtaining the three pieces are very different. If you want to maximize your speed when climbing, this is the ideal option.

Keep in mind that it is likely that you will naturally learn about the existence of this armor during your adventures. A non-player character might give you a hint about one of the pieces, for example, or you might even find treasure maps related to this set. However, it is not necessary to do exhaustive work; you don’t need to discover that information in-game to open the chests containing the climbing gear.

In this guide, we will provide you how to get Escalation armor in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and the location of the climbing set, the climber’s scarf and the climbing boots, so you can achieve maximum speed.

How to get Escalation armor in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Inside the North Hyrule Plain cave, located at coordinates (-1188, 0646, 0072), northwest of Lookout Landing and between the convergence of the main road from Carok Bridge to North Hyrule Plain, you will find the climbing equipment. If you are heading towards New Serenne Stable, take a detour to the right and you will find the entrance on the slope of a hill.

Once inside, you will be greeted by two nasty enemies. If you haven’t fought one yet, I suggest keeping your distance and going for a bait and evade strategy.

Approach them until they open their mouths and you see a glow, which is their vulnerable point. Attacking that point will stun them and give you a chance to continue dealing damage.

However, if you are swallowed, your health will not be affected as much. Although it is better to avoid it altogether. Besides, if a Like Like throws rocks at you, activate Knockback to reverse the throw and throw them back at him.

Next, you will have to ascend. I found the wall on the left side to be much more accessible – if you fall into the water you’ll slip, so you’ll either have to rely on your jumping or find a way to dry Link’s clothes (building a bonfire can be helpful if I’m really in a pinch) .

The trick is to ascend until you reach two waterfalls. There you will meet a Horriblin guarding them, which you can take down using Knockback once it throws a rock at you, similar to a Like Like. You will then be able to attack them while they are lying stunned on the ground. In addition, your bow will also be effective.

Afterwards, you will come to a path that leads to the right side of the cave. To your left, you will find two waterfalls, one below the other.

Dive into the water and swim through the upper waterfall, since the chest room is located on the other side. Also you can use the Ultrahand to explore the environment and locate the chest.

Once across, go ahead and unlock it to get the Climbing Gear. This piece of armor has a defense of 3 and improves your speed when climbing..

Location of the Climbing boots in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

On the Upland Zorana Byroad, located at the coordinates (2858, 0354, 0227), you can find the climbing boots. This cave is located west of Zora’s Domain, north of Ralis Pond and east of the Zora River on the map.

This cave can be quite disconcerting at first, but I’ll show you the main route to the climbing boots below. In the first large room, where there is a small pool of water, two paths fork..

The left path has a rock-covered Like Like that hides a passage while hanging from the left wall. On the other hand, the path on the right, where we are going, has another Like Like covered with rocks, and there is a hole in the wall through which you can access.

Face the enemy or keep moving forward. You will come to a descending path with a glass barrier at the end..

If you have a sharp weapon with you, such as a sword or an axe, you will be able to break through. Otherwise, a bomb flower will come in handy; if you don’t have any, I could spot some around the cave.

Next, you will come across a submerged room filled with statues and ancient remains.. It may seem like a daunting challenge, but the task here is pretty straightforward. Move forward, either by swimming or jumping on the structures in ruins to stay afloat and get to the other side.

There you will find a door. Use Ultra Hand to grab it. , then swipe up.

Doing so will drain most of the water in the room. Unlike other similar gadgets in previous caves, you don’t need to use Kickback to keep the door in place. Hold it upright until the water is gone. Then you can drop it again.

From here, you are free to explore the room and loot anything you may have missed. There are new doors that you can now access without the flooding, and the one containing the chest with the Climbing Boots is located under the stairs, to the right side of the door you just lifted.

Enter through the entrance to the room, where you will discover the chest that houses the climbing boots inside. This armor component grants a 3 point defense and boosts your speed when climbing.

Location of the Climbing scarf in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

At the coordinates (3663, 0539, 0272), inside the cavern of Ploymus Mountain, you will be able to discover the part of the climber’s scarf intended for the head. This cave is located to the east of Zora’s Domain, and as you head into it towards the top of Mipha Court, you will naturally come across Lake Lulu.

The structure of the cave is simple, but its navigation is quite complicated. You will have to climb the multiple surfaces in front of you to reach the other end. As in the previous caves, keep in mind that Link will probably be wet due to rain or the proximity of the lake, which will increase the risk of slipping during the climb.

I suggest you leave the head piece as the last one to be found, as you will get a great benefit from having both the climbing boots and the climbing gear, which will increase your climbing speed. Once you’re equipped with both, the key is to be patient. I recommend you start on the left side of the cave, grab the walls, go up a bit and immediately jump next to the next ledge.

On occasion, you will notice a rock that you can stand on between the ledges. If any of the ledges seem too far away, try the one on the opposite side. This is a general rule that has saved me on several occasions inside this cave.

When you get a chance, drop to the right side of the cave and then paraglide to the left side once more.. As you get closer to the other end, you will notice a ledge that is larger than the previous ones. You can scale the wall to the left and then jump onto the ledge from there.

After completing the last climb, you will find yourself on high ground. You only have to go through an open passage to your right, which will take you directly to the treasure room. Inside the chest you will find the climber’s bandana. This piece of armor provides a defense of 3 and increases your speed when climbing..
