How to Freeze and Kill All Bosses in Elden Ring

Ashes of War Spectral Flame Summon applies cold to your weapons and causes enemies to freeze.

Players continue to progress through Elden Ring’s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree,  and many of them are starting to have trouble defeating the game’s toughest bosses . Is this your case? Don’t worry, because From Software’s RPG always offers tools to turn the tide of combat, such as the War Ashes summoning spectral flame, which allow you to easily freeze your enemies and create explosions of black magic .

Step 1: Charo’s hidden grave

Yes, the place you need to go to is called that. It’s the top of the Cerulean Coast, but you can’t access it from there. Instead, what you need to do is cross over the giant dragon lying dead next to the Great Altar of Dragon Communion . Follow the route in the image below.

Step 2: Bird of the Funeral Ritual

At the place indicated in the image above you will encounter an optional boss called the Funeral Ritual Bird . It is not too difficult, but you must be careful since the flying enemies are uncomfortable and in this case, their magic attacks can do a lot of damage. You will get the C. G: Invoke Spectral Flame .

Freeze effect in Elden Ring

When you apply these ashes to your favorite weapon, you will not only deal cold damage and be able to freeze any enemy or boss; you will also have an ability that summons a sphere of spectral flame. This ability is very interesting as it allows you to perform three different attacks and all of them inflict freezing.

  • Summons a small sphere that explodes after a couple of seconds.
  • If you hit the sphere with a simple attack, you will cause the ground to burn and deal constant damage.
  • If you hit the sphere with a strong attack, you will cause a huge, very powerful explosion.

In our case, we got an incredible 127 Freeze after applying them to Freyja’s Greatsword +25. Enemies were freezing after just two or three hits! Remember that in Elden Ring, Freeze deals massive damage similar to Bleeding, and also slows the enemy for a while . The main difference from Bleeding is that Freeze lasts for around half a minute, so it’s not possible to deal cold damage again until the enemy returns to normal .
