How To Fix;Can’t install the iOS 15 beta update

Apple releases iOS updates frequently to keep your iPhone safe, up to date, and feature rich. There are so many great features in iOS 15! If you’ve recently tried to install the iOS 15 beta but failed, check out these proven solutions to resolve the issue. Once you complete them, the software update error issue will no longer bother you. Let’s get a look.

  1. Basics for Provision of Downloading and Installing iOS Updates
  2. Force close the Settings app
  3. Reboot your iPhone
  4. Find out how to fix a stuck iPhone update
  5. Reset network settings
  6. Use your computer to download and install the iPhone update

1. Basics for ensuring download and installation of iOS updates.

I. Make sure your iPhone is compatible

The first step is to make sure your device is compatible with iOS. If you have an iPhone 6s or newer, you can download and install the beta version of iOS 15. If you have an iPhone 6 or earlier, iOS 12 is the maximum you can go for. You can see the full list of supported devices for iOS 15.

II. Make sure you have more than 50% battery power

To install an iOS update, you must have more than 50% battery power. If the charge level is less than indicated, connect the iPhone to the charger. While charging or when the battery level is over 50%, you can easily download and install an iOS update.

III. Connect to stable Wi-Fi

It is very important to have a stable Wi-Fi connection. Also, make sure you disable VPN on your iPhone or at the router level. If the Wi-Fi at the coffee shop does not allow you to download the update, consider using Wi-Fi at home or in the office.

Note : Some minor iOS updates can now be downloaded using mobile data. I showed this in my tweet as well. According to my testing over the past few months, major updates still require Wi-Fi.

IV. Make sure you have enough free space

To download and install iOS updates, make sure you have the required free space. If you don’t have enough free space, you will see a message on the update screen. To fix this issue, check out our guide on how to free up space on iPhone.

V. Wait for a while or try again later

You’ve tried the above fixes, and yet if that doesn’t work, you might be concerned about why my iPhone won’t update to iOS 15! But in some cases, the fault is not yours!

For example, when a major update is released, people from all over the world flock to download the latest version of iOS. This is tedious for Apple servers and you will see “Waiting for update …” for a long time. In such conditions, the best solution is to wait a few hours.

You can also check the Apple server and see if everything is okay here or not.

If you’re still unable to install the iOS 15 beta update on your iPhone, proceed to the next step.

2. Force exit the Settings app.

If you’re unable to install the iOS 15 beta update on your iPhone, force quit the Settings app.

  1. On iPhone with Face ID, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold.
    • On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly double-tap it.
  2. Drag the Settings app card all the way up to exit.
  3. After a few seconds, open the app Settings → General → Software Update and see if you can install the new iOS update.

3. Restart your iPhone.

This is another important fix that prevents the iOS update from installing. To restart your iPhone, turn it off and then turn it back on after a minute.

4. Find out how to fix a stuck iPhone update.

Is your iPhone update stuck? Does it get stuck on the same screen asking for an update for a very long time? In this situation, please read this post where I will show you several solutions to solve this problem.

5. Reset network settings.

This is almost the right solution to fix the software update error problem. Some time ago my iPhone update was also stuck. I switched to three different Wi-Fi networks. However, the update did not download. Finally, I reset my network settings and everything was as good as possible.

Note : This will not delete any personal data such as apps, photos, videos, songs, etc. However, all network settings related to Wi-Fi, cellular, etc. will be deleted.

  1. Open iPhone settings and tap General.
  2. Click Reset → Reset Network Settings.
  3. Then try downloading and installing the update again. It will work.

In rare cases, if this does not help, reset all settings. This will also not erase your personal data. But all the settings you have ever changed or added, such as notifications, keyboard, Wi-Fi, location, VPN, etc., will be reset to their default state.

6.Use your computer to download and install the iPhone update.

Finally, if nothing is working at the moment, you can also update your iPhone using a Mac or Windows PC. We have a detailed guide explaining how to do this.
