The update is suspected to have caused an incompatibility with the Windows operating system, causing computer systems to malfunction.  This leads to sudden crashes or forced restarts that put the PC’s operation at risk.

Microsoft is already working on putting an end to this chaos. In the meantime, the company has published some recommendations to mitigate the impact of the bug, while waiting for a definitive solution.

In this article we will show you step by step how you can get rid of the CrowdStrike problem .

Fix CrowdStrike Blue Screen of Death with Windows Safe Mode

So far, there is only one effective method against the CrowdStrike bug . The reason why this happens is because the latest version has a faulty channel file , which causes the software to crash and cause the inconvenience as a result.

The first thing you need to do is enter Windows Safe Mode or WRE . To do this, you need to turn off your computer. If you are experiencing a blue screen, do it manually. Now turn it on and proceed to press the key that appears in one of the lower corners quickly. This can vary between F8, Shift + F8 or another key combination.

The PC will then go into Safe Mode to prevent CrowdStrike functions from running and prevent the problem from appearing. Now, it is necessary to delete the file that is causing the problems from the root. Follow these steps to do so:

  • Open Windows File Explorer and enter the address “C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike”.
  • Here you need to look for the file “C-00000291*.sys”.
  • Right click on it and select Delete .
  • Restart your computer without Safe Mode.

When you turn your PC back on, it should not cause the Blue Screen of Death error. However, this is not a permanent solution, as it is possible that it will occur again. If it happens again, just perform the steps again and wait for the next CrowdStrike update, where it will surely be fixed.

The importance of CrowdStrike in cyber threat protection has sparked a debate about the software’s compatibility and stability due to these incidents. However, the development team is already working to fix the problem as soon as possible.
