How to fix Minecraft account error when logging in

Playing Minecraft online requires users to sign in to their account. Users must sign in with their Microsoft account, and they usually remain signed in after they sign in. If you change your Microsoft account password or make other security-related changes to your account, you will be forcibly signed. -From everything, including Minecraft.

Fix Minecraft: Account Login Error

Logging into Minecraft is very easy; you hit the sign-in option, enter your Microsoft account email and password, authenticate with whatever two-factor authentication app you might have set up, and you’re good to go.

If you’re trying to sign in to Minecraft and you get an account error, try the following fixes.

1. Check your login information.

Make sure you enter the correct email address and password. Visit your Microsoft account page in a browser and sign in. If you are unable to sign in, you are most likely entering incorrect credentials. Try to recover your account to find the correct email address, or try to recover your password.

If you have the correct email and password, use them to log into Minecraft.

2. Close and reopen Minecraft.

Try restarting Minecraft and your system. It can fix login problems and there is a simple solution. Try to quit the app first and reopen it. If that doesn’t work, restart your system and then open Minecraft.

3. Use the official launcher

If you are using the Java version of Minecraft, make sure you are using the official launcher. It might be tempting to use a third-party launcher, but that might be the reason why you are unable to log in. Use the official launcher and log into Minecraft. After logging in, try using a third-party launcher.

4. Check your network settings.

If you can log into your Microsoft account outside of Minecraft, but you receive an error message in Minecraft, it might be a network error.

  1. Open Control Panel .
  2. Go to System and Security> Windows Defender Firewall.
  3. Click the Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall option in the left column.
  4. Go through the list and make sure Minecraft is allowed to communicate on both public and private networks.

5. Update Minecraft.

Update Minecraft. The Java version does not automatically update and the Bedrock / Windows 10 version may not update automatically despite the option. Please update the app and try to login.

6. Disable proxy / VPN.

Minecraft rarely requires a proxy or VPN unless you use it where it will be blocked, such as at school or work. If you are playing at home and have a VPN or proxy enabled, disable it and try logging in. After logging in, you can always turn proxy / VPN back on and continue playing.

Conclusion

Problems logging into Minecraft tend to be sporadic. They can appear randomly and go away on their own. If you still can’t sign in, try waiting a few hours before trying again.
