Some third-party app could be the reason

The game does not explicitly support and may even see certain applications / software as a conflict or threat and as such refuses to run or crashes.

Disable all background software or applications, including antivirus, firewall, and any FPS boosting or monitoring software. Here’s Steam explaining everything. Temporarily disable these apps and find which app is interfering with the game:

  • Right-click the Windows Start button> Task Manager
  • Click the Home tab (click More details to display the tabs)
  • Restart the computer

Note: Many of the methods written in the “Game won’t start” section may also work in this scenario.

Note: All the methods included in this article have been recommended by the developers themselves. If none of these work for you, you can focus on technical support.
