How to fix common Stellaris errors

Install the latest game patch and disable your gamepad. Gamepads seem to cause stuttering problems for some players. Also, check your game cache:

  1. Go to your Steam library
  2. Right click> Properties in Stellaris
  3. Click on the “Local Files” tab
  4. Click on the button «Verify the integrity of the game cache….»

  1. Try disconnecting your controller> restart the game
  2. Run the game in windowed mode
  3. Try running Steam as an administrator:
  • Go to: \ Nprogram files
  • Right click> Properties in steam.exe
  • Click the Compatibility tab
  • Check «Run this program as administrator
  • Go to: \ NCommonly used water vapor program files
  • Right click> Properties in stellaris.exe
  • Click the Compatibility tab
  • Check «Run this program as administrator.
  1. Rerun Redistributables

Do this even if you have DirectX installed. Run the following files, and then restart your computer:

  • SteamSteamSapps.exe
  • Common SteamMapps on the market (tag__4.0) Client profile PuntoNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe
  • Steam: common for all types of steam

  1. Stellaris won’t start / launch
  2. If this happens after you have changed some video settings, go to \ N My Documents Paradox Interactive Stellarissettings.txt and delete this file. The game will create a clean video configuration file.
