How to Fix a Broken Windmill in Manor Lords

If you’ve worked hard to create the perfect farms in Manor Lords, waited until the growing season and have reached harvest time with your harvest saved, but your windmill refuses to work, then we understand your frustration.

We will give you some ways to fix the windmill not working in Manor Lords even if you have enough wheat to produce flour. There are two main reasons: one is related to the production of flour from wheat, and the other is a possible error similar to the inactivity problem.

How to Fix a Broken Windmill in Manor Lords

Before we dive into solving this problem, let’s assume that you have a reasonable understanding of how agriculture works, and that you have at least one family on your farm and windmill. If you don’t, that’s probably where your problem lies.

While it may not be well described, there is a hidden step in the bread production chain that can cause a windmill to fail, or at least not work. After farmers have harvested the wheat, it must be ground into grain and then sent to a windmill to make flour, which is then used to make bread at a bakery or community bakery. This bread is sent to the market, where it can be purchased along with other produce like berries, eggs, and meat.

A farmer converts wheat into grain before sending it to a windmill.

The grain is turned into flour in a windmill for subsequent baking into bread.

The process of threshing grain occurs on the farm after harvesting and is performed by workers. However, threshing may be delayed or slowed down if your staff is busy with other tasks, such as ploughing the fields or sowing. Threshing has a lower priority than field work and occurs after it is completed.

Farmers need time to thresh wheat into grain, which is then sent to the windmill. To speed up the process, make sure your farm has enough workers. You can also increase the threshing priority by clicking on the Farm House, then Advanced, and setting the Threshing Priority to High. This will help farmers prioritize threshing after each harvest.

By developing a heavy plow, you can reduce harvesting time and plowing, which will also speed up the threshing of wheat.

Another reason why the windmill is not working in Manor Lords may be a lack of grain. Like other resources, grain needs to be transported to the windmill. This may take some time if you have a limited amount of labor or the windmill is located far from the farmhouse.

You can also increase the efficiency of your windmill by placing it in an open area, away from obstacles like trees and buildings. Placing it there will give you a percentage value that reflects the impact of that location on the efficiency of the windmill.

Windmill Error

The second reason for the windmill problems in Manor Lords is due to a ruined windmill in the Waldbrand region. If you build your settlement there, you will find the ruins of a windmill that can be restored and presumably used. However, even after restoration and full staffing, the windmill will not be able to accept grain to produce flour.

This is a bug and as far as we know it is not currently fixed, but we hope that the developers at Slavic Magic will fix it soon. Your only option is to build a new windmill that will function as intended given the described threshing process.
