How to find your phone with the Google Assistant

First of all, the phone you are looking for must be registered with your Google account. If you’re logged into your phone using your account (which you usually do during setup), it should already be linked to your Google account.

You also need to make sure that Google’s Find My Device feature is enabled. It’s enabled by default, so if you don’t remember disabling it, it should still be enabled. If you don’t know if it’s on, be sure to double check; we have treated it as one of the ways to find your android phone .

So, all you have to do is say “Ok, Google” to your Google Home device to wake it up. Then say “Find my phone”.

When you do this, the Google Assistant will make your phone ring at full volume, even if you set it to mute it. All you have to do now is track down where the ring is coming from.

Help, I can’t hear him play

If you’ve done the above steps and the Google Assistant says it’s ringing your phone, but you still can’t hear it ring, it’s probably further away than you might have initially thought.

If that’s the case, don’t worry just yet. There are tools you can use to locate a lost phone, even if you don’t have any special tracking apps installed. Be sure to check out how to track and find your phone’s location for more details.

Find your phone with the Google Assistant

If your phone always finds its way along sofa cushions or under tables, Google Home Hub can help you find it. Use the voice command “Ok Google, find my phone” and your phone will start ringing.

This nice feature is not heavily advertised. In fact, it’s one of the things you probably didn’t even know your Google Assistant could do.
