The search for the key is one of the parts of the quest chain “Wild Fairy Erinyes” in Fontaine. As part of it, you need to find several keys. We completed the quest “The Path to the Misty Forest” and received two more quests to find these items – Withering Weeping Willow and Furious Lake by the Spring. In this short guide, we will tell you where to find the key near the first object.
How to Find the Key Near the Weeping Willow in Genshin Impact.
To find the key, we need to go down to the bottom of the lake. The necessary teleports are located near Lake Urania, and the location itself is marked on the map, so you won’t have any trouble finding it.
The easiest way is to move to the teleport at Lake Urania and follow the path to the location. There is a lake under the yellow-green weeping willow. You need to dive into it and swim to the underwater altar. We will need to activate it in a special way.
To find out how to activate the altar, swim to the mechanism that is closer to the surface of the water, in the direction of the chest. After interacting with it, the elements of the altar will light up in a certain way: first the two elements on the left with one bubble, and then the right one with two.
First, we take the ability from the Xenochrome Sharpray, which is floating somewhere nearby. Left-click to borrow its skill. Swim up to the bunch of seaweed and long-press to cut the bunch of seaweed above the altar. This will free the Xenochrome Ball Octopus. We will need its ability to complete the quest and open the key.
After that, use the ability to remove the weak links in the form of purple clots while holding down E. After them, purple spots will remain on the bottom. They also need to be removed using a special octopus technique. This way, you will get the bubble that we will need to activate the altar.
