Medieval Dynasty is a rather unusual survival game. But not only because of the setting and the claim to historicity, but also because in it you have to take care not only of yourself, but also of the non-player characters who have become part of your medieval settlement. But there are even less instructions on how to do this than on basic mechanics (for example, we have a separate guide on how to build a house ).
And if you really can think of something on your own, then for many players it becomes a mystery how to feed your hungry wife or people invited to help the village under construction. We answer this tricky question.
This icon in the corner signals that someone from your settlement is starving.
How to feed wife and villagers in Medieval Dynasty
In short, in order to feed the NPCs who have become part of your settlement, you need to:
- Build a granary.
- Prepare food and place it in the storage located in the granary.
This chest is where you need to put food for your NPCs
Below we will tell you more about how to complete these points.
In general, the process is not very simple and can take a lot of time. It is better not to get fooled by the offer of the game to start a family as soon as possible – at the very beginning of the game, all these buildings and the constant management of the state of your wife and child are unlikely to be within your power.
The lady of the heart will cook hearty food for you, but at first you can cope without it.
How to build a granary in Medieval Dynasty
This structure can be erected after obtaining the 5th level of the “Agriculture” skill . The skill develops naturally when you use it.
To start the construction process, you will need 8 logs . In total, the construction will take 40 logs, 62 branches and 32 units of straw.
How to set up storage space for food:
- Go to the Creation Radial Menu ( Q ).
- Select “Buildings” , then “Vaults” , and there – “Granary” .
It is very easy to confuse the “Storage” and “Granary” buildings. Notice the granary is on the right side of the radial menu.
How to get food in Medieval Dynasty
If we are talking about gathering, then food can be found in different ways – it depends on the time of year. In summer and spring, there is an opportunity to pick berries, and in autumn, mushrooms will diversify the diet. But meat, in contrast to food of plant origin, can be obtained at any time of the year.
How to get meat in Medieval Dynasty
At the very beginning, you can get meat with the help of hunting and traps.
To make a rabbit trap, you need:
- Go to the Creation Radial Menu ( Q ).
- Select ” Furniture and Decor” , then “Traps” .
- Next, select the “Rabbit Trap” (you need 10 branches to create).
From time to time it will be necessary to approach the traps and get prey from there. Your traps (at first you can only have one) are displayed on the map, as well as on the compass.
To hunt, you first need to acquire a butcher knife and a hunting tool. The game has the ability to make yourself a spear for these purposes, but in fact, you can even hunt with an ax. You can make both a knife and an ax in the creation menu (the ” Craft” tab ).
Getting meat is simple: just find an animal in the forest (say, a wild boar or a wolf), rush at it with a weapon and kill it. Then interact with the animal’s carcass (this is what you need a knife for) to cut it.
How to fry meat in Medieval Dynasty
The game offers ample opportunities for cooking, but if we are talking about the very beginning of the game, then you need to cook food on a fire. Bonfire is an unlockable skill. It must be purchased for 30 coins in the Tech Tree menu ( Survival tab ).
To create a fire, you need:
- Go to the Creation Radial Menu ( Q ).
- Select Furniture and Decor and then Bonfires.
- Next, select the only available option. To create you need 16 branches.
- Use the torch to light the fire ( E ).
After that, just interact with the fire. The Cooking Radial Menu will open, where you can craft the Fried Meat item. In the world of Medieval Dynasty, this is not the most satisfying food, but for the first time it will do.
An attentive player may object that there is already a cauldron in the house in which you can cook food. But, unfortunately, at the start of the adventure, it is not suitable: for the dishes that are proposed to be cooked there, you need a lot of ingredients that are not available to the player. Not to mention, the recipes for cooking at home will have to be unlocked separately.
